wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

Santino had a major push right after he made his debut (becoming only the second person in history, I believe, to win any WWE title in his debut match, and the first person to win the IC title in his debut match), and has been used quite well fairly consistently since then (this includes the whole 'Santina' angle, which actually helped him get over rather than killing his heat/momentum like you would think such an angle might).

Given the way he's been utilized since his debut, I AM kind of surprised it took them this long to give him a run with the US title, to be honest, and hope he'll get a decent chance as champ.

I think the other person was Gail Kim... It's hard to tell what "creative" is thinking most days when they often disregard talent such as these two.

Actually, the person I was referring to was Carlito; I don't remember Gail Kim winning the Women's title in her debut match, but if she did, it does put her in pretty good company.

They did end up failing to use Kim the way they should've, but Carlito and Santino were or have been used quite well. In fact, if Carlito hadn't gotten himself in trouble with the WWE's Wellness policy, he would probably still be with the company and would probably be a fairly big player in the company, or at least be being used in a fairly satisfactory manner.

Edit: Apparently Carlito was 'jobbed' out more than I was aware, and even tried to leave the company twice; however, he had a fairly steady push for nearly 4 years, which is 'nothing to sneeze at'.

Yeah, she debuted on June 30, 2003 and won the Women's Title in a Seven-Woman Battle Royal.

I'm well aware of Santino's pushes before...I was talking about right now, instead of all this comedy bull shit he has been involved with since his parting of the ways with Beth and what not.

Santino is actually incredibly well-suited for the comedy stuff, and it's actually one of the reasons he's as over as he is. Rather than killing his momentum, the comedy angles he's been in have gotten him even more over. It's what I'd call the 'Mankind Effect' (because it is the same thing that happened to Mick Foley when his his Mankind character started being played for comedy).

Oh, it's true. It's damn true. And it was awesome. It's unfortunate that she never regained that momentum after she lost the Women's title. One of the few people who has actually done better in TNA than in the WWE.

It's been announced (I'm sure you've seen it all over the dirtsheets) by Kharma that she suffered a miscarriage in December. I can't say I didn't question her early return to the ring at the Royal Rumble, but now we know.

It's a heck of a shame when things like this happen, especially to those people who are extremely dedicated - Kharma put her career on hold, despite just reaching the peak of her industry to become a mother.

^Wow. I'm just speechless. Thats terrible news.

Well, if the Rumble was any indication she appears to be on the road to recovery.

Hope shes okay. :(

Oh, damn. I must be one of the few that hadn't heard about that yet, then. That really sucks. :(

With this info coming to light, I'm really surprised she came back and made an appearance at the Rumble because she had to have still been in major emotional turmoil at the time. This absolutely sucks and I really hope the WWE gets on board with this foundation and campaign she's starting.

Didn't Christian?

That is truly unfortunate news about Kharma...and would explain why she returned early.

Gail Kim has been wasted in both WWE and TNA IMO and is much more talented than what both companies have used her for. Oh and just a trivial note, I was thinking about when Robert Irvine could have met Gail...and remembered a while back that he did a WWE episode of Dinner Impossible. I'm guessing that they met then.

Maybe this is a case of different people dealing with emotional turmoil in different ways, and hers is to keep herself occupied?

I hadn't heard this news until I read it here. That's absolutely awful.

So I had this idea about Kane and Orton. Obviously it looks like this is more lazy, tedious build to a fight at WM, but wouldn't it be nice if it wasn't? We've had a run out by each followed by a finisher delivery and a one liner like they're bloody James Bond ("welcome back" etc), but let's say this didn't go the obvious way (what follows is the kind of fannish fantasy booking I almost never indulge in, but I think it's good). So a match is booked between them on, say, Raw and Primo and Epico run in to attack Kane for his attack after that three way tag match last week. But instead Orton helps Kane fight them off, effectively making them a team. But rather than an ordinary team, being ostensibly a pair of unhinged madmen (I know Randy doesn't have and has never had a character, but he's got a song that suggests it) they're not shy of brawling with each other (their recent attacks on each other being more like displays of their unhingedness than the start of a feud). It wouldn't be that they don't get on as a team, but they're not afraid to twat each other (more like the Austin/Undertaker tagteam than the Cena/Otunga one, though still a bit unlike anything we've had before in a team).

So now there's no MitB ladder match at WM according to the latest rumour, maybe a tag title ladder match instead (maybe even revisit the past glory and have a TLC match) between Orton/Kane, Prime/Epico and maybe Kingston/Truth (3 out of 6 highfliers means there could be enough for the excitement you'd expect; after all, out of the Hardyz, E&C and the Dudleys, only around 50% were really high flying there either). The match ends with Orton and Kane on either side of the ladder, meaning certain victory for their team, but one pushes the other off and takes the belts. The other repays it by doing their finisher on their team mate, followed by that other's theme playing instead and mad smiling at each other between the ramp and ring.

Then Kane/Orton are the new absolutely unstoppable tag team for a few months; eventually they drop the titles in a three way tag team match where one opposing team pins the other, and they get disqualified intentionally in the rematch to instead carry on feuding with each other properly. The decider match could become the number 1 contender match as well; one wins and goes on to become champion, the other gets drafted to the other show and becomes champion (logically they're both main event talents, where Kane ought to be World Champ and Orton's due it again eventually because he's golden boy). They might have a champion vs champion streetfight on a Raw that ends in a double countout, ending their connection and that would be the Kane/Orton saga - a dominant tag team of unhinged men who go on the become world champs each. It's the kind of thing that's not been done before, and would be a decent story I think. Like I said, it's fantasy booking but I think it might be for good long term story. Better than them just having a match at Mania where Orton inevitably goes over.
