Kirk Cameron's Comments

I've read some interesting discussions on this from both LGBT supporters and religious conservatives.

As an American, Kirk Cameron has First Amendment rights, and he's also entitled to his own beliefs, no matter how absurd or antiquated they are. But a lot of people who support Cameron are also religious folks, who said things like "Love the sinner, not the sin," and that they don't condemn a person based on his/her sexual orientation, although they disapprove of their actions or "lifestyles." Even the Christian in me thinks that sounds incredibly stupid and ridiculous. It's like saying, "Oh, it's perfectly acceptable to be a straight man, but you shouldn't have sex with anyone." :wtf:

Oh, don't mind Kirk Cameron, he's just a giant, self serving, washed up, hypocritical, tool bag.

Yup, what a has-been. As others have said, his beliefs are as dated as his 1980s career. I also think it's a publicity stunt.

Or “It’s perfectly acceptable to be left-handed, as long as you don’t write, eat or throw a ball with your left hand.”

Who the hell is Kirk Cameron? I vaguely recall that he’s an actor or something.

Go to YouTube and watch his video with Ray Comfort regarding how the "design" of a banana proves the existence of God. Unfortunately, these guys don't understand that the banana we eat today is the product of selective cultivation by humans and is different from the ones that the first humans picked up and tried to eat.

No one should take this guy seriously or have their feelings hurt by him.

I do not know if there is or is not a God, but putting all these goofy, incorrect bits of information forward as proof of the existence of a God shows a complete lack of understanding of the nature of world around them and perhaps of the God that created it.

My take exactly. He can say whatever he likes. Nobody has to pay attention.

So Kirk is obsessed with bananas? Interesting...

Yep. He has a right to his opinion.

*Even if it's a dated opinion... that's really out there O_O*

Plus there's the oral sex symbolism.

Sometimes a banana is just a banana.

And sometimes it’s a big curved yellow dick.

I wonder why any one cares what Kirk Cameron says or thinks. The more people react the longer it'll take for him to return to obscurity...

Him even commenting seems a bit hypocritical. Pardon me, but who died and made you(him) God? I mean, how is his take any more right than mine? Because he bases his on a misunderstanding of the words in an old book we're supposed to put more value on said opinion? *snort* Whatever. Go play with Rush and leave us alone.

you know, I'm a Christian and I just don't give two shits about what gay people do. If they want to get married just let them.

There is an entire faction of Christianity that focuses on certain little rules that are mentioned in the Bible but ignore the rest of them. People get focused on homosexuality and want to judge others but forget parts of the Bible that say among other things that its okay to have slaves or that its okay to rape a virgin and then marry her. Or, and my favorite is that women shouldn't have short hair. (I point this out to my very religious mother in law with short hair all the time.)

These other issues are ones that we as a society find outdated and outmodeled so why people get so focused on this issue of homosexuality I'll never know. We certainly wouldn't find it acceptable to rape a virgin and marry her or we wouldn't think that a woman with short hair is going to hell, so again, why people get focused on this issue I'll never know.

Sorry for the long post. I could rant for hours against my fellow Christian's legalistic and inconsistant ways.

"Homos are gross and make me uncomfortable".

That's it. People are douche-bags and small minded and scared of things and people that don't fit into their nice, neat, stupid view of the world. Quite frankly, I hate people like that and want nothing to do with them in my life.

When I was, say, 10 years old, I wanted to be Kirk Cameron. Mike Seaver was the coolest kid on TV. Now he just makes me want to puke. If there's a hell I hope he burns in it.

I think he actually has a decent career producing Christian oriented entertainment. And I think this is a publicity stunt to promote that business. And I also think people freaking out about it and attacking him is exactly what he wanted.

Yep, when I was a little kid in the late 1980's, his poster was on the wall of every preteen and teenager's bed rooms, as well as school lockers. I still remember how girls would SCREAM at the top of their lungs anytime he'd walk into the room. Seems he totally changed once he went all religious, and apart from his christian films, and his short lived WB network comedy, his appeal did a 180 degree turn. Mel Gibson's already going through this as well.

Kirk can say what he wants, though he might lose fans, including more of the liberal religious folks out there.
