And that was the second half of the series. Basically we're possibly looking at almost 60 weeks with only one new episode.

And given that they'd have to start production very shortly after work on Series 7 finishes, I wouldn't be expecting Series 8 in 2013 unless it's just the first few episodes airing between the Anniversary and Christmas.

It'd be more like 17-18 months to do that.

And his most recent comment on the subject was more specific; namely that they'd be shooting from February to December. This fulfils the claim that it'd would be the "longest production period", albeit just by a few weeks and would give them enough time to shoot 14 episodes plus a couple of Anniversary Specials.

Sorry, I thought you were talking specifically about details of the discoveries leaking out rather than just vague rumour of their existence. Since that's no longer the case I refer you to my earlier response.
