JJ Abrams is pissed over leaked photos

Oh criminitely, Orci released the pictures, and according to Quinto, there not real scenes.

I thought Quinto said they weren't actually filming when those pictures were taken?
So that would mean the scenes depicted in the pictures aren't the actual scenes we will see in the movie?

I intrepret it as they are acutal scenes, but at the time the photos were taken the actors were only practicing as opposed to actually filming.

So after practice they report to the makeup department to get ready for their roles?

Cripes! Crumby could be a turtlehead after all! :rommie:

Filming, with stunt-doubles in-frame. Who would have thought?

Oh and just for the fun of it since this is pretty much throw whatever against the wall to see what sticks, I'll add my own guess as to the identity... the previously established character Johnny.

Quinto was joking and even follows up with that statement with (verbatim) "that was a Damon Lindelof joke I stole off of him." Obviously we're seeing run throughs of the action scenes.

The video could have been legitimatly recorded as part of the 'behind the scenes' documentries you get on the DVD. So it may have been a legit recording but the footage was leaked to the public after it was uploaded in the studio, or even taken off the camera after the fact.

I'm sure studio security is great safeguarding the acually film footage, but those 'Behind the Scenes' recordings may have lighter security.

I too believe it was an intentional leak.

We deserved something with allot of substance after [patiently?] waiting so freaking long, and still facing another 15 months! till release.

I noticed that there have been no statements directly from JJ Abrams indicating that his pissed. You'd think if he was that upset that he would've said something by now.

He's obviously so beside himself pissed that he can't speak. He'd probably go into a rant if he tried to say anything, and would have to be restrained. He might even scream, "Get a life!" at us. And, we all know how well that turned out the last time someone associated with Trek said that to fans. ;)

This all smacks of Paramount's publicity department. They know the audience for this movie is internet nerds, so it's particularly important in this case, but any movie release will have an online/social media strategy nowadays, and "creativity" in guerilla marketing techniques considered a plus. (For starters, it's cheap.)

Leaking photos is good. Leaking photos and then manufacturing a BS controversy about how upset they are about the leaked photos is even better. ;)

Your theory of duplicity sounds valid enough for me, so I have a question? How can we trust that the pictures and the videos were valid, and not a setup?

Back to square one.
