He deserves it, for what he did to Wrex and Grunt.

You can definitely get a loyal Mordin killed, simply by sending him into the vent. A loyal Miranda on the other hand is surprisingly difficult to kill. I think you'd pretty much have to leave her to hold the line all on her lonesome, which would also require killing just about everyone else.

If you're desperate then you could always reload a save from before her loyalty mission, or just used the gibbed save editor to make her disloyal again...actually, have you done Jack's mission yet? If not, then all you need do is take Jack side in their little catfight and pick Miranda as a squadmate for the final boss.

Unfortunately at this point I've done everything except a half-dozen N7 missions, and Legion/the relay.

    I will be disappointed if Zaeed doesn't show up . . . he's a total BA

Then I'm pretty sure you're stuck with her. While it is possible to kill off some loyal sqaudmates, I don't think it's possible to kill off enough for Miranda to be killed holding the line.

On the up side, at least you can do away with Mordin if you like. ;)

^ I dunno, I think it's possible, Miranda is one of the weakest in that part of the collector mission. If you've got enough of the tougher squadmates with you, Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed, for example (and yes, I know you can only have 2 at a time) or one of them escorted the crew back, and if most of the rest aren't loyal, you could probably have Ms. Lawson, not make it back. It would probably require almost nobody else surviving the Hold the Line part of it though.

Finally got around to playing the multiplayer demo. So far it's okay, but aggravating, largely due to the fact that I can't get a full team of 4 and most of the time I go in with 2-3 and the rest of the team bolts, leaving me by my lonesome, getting XP very slowly and never any credits.

Bioware may need to introduce a Bot system for those situations.

Well he said he's already done all the loyalty missions save Legion's which makes things very difficult.

But let's see. Now, assuming he has all the upgrades that means he'll have a full team going in. Grunt, Garrus and Zaeed are the strongest on the line so they're the ones you'll want to get rid of, one way or another. You could send one back with the crew and pick the other two to go with you for the final boss but then you'd have (assuming Morden is killed in the vents) Thane, Jack, Legion, Samara, Jacob, Tali, Kasumi AND Miranda to hold the line. That's enough to get Tali killed, but not Miranda. You have to arrange for Tali, Jack and Kasumi to not be on the line with Miranda *as well as* those top three defenders.

I just ran it through the SMSC utility and even without the upgrades, sacrificing Tali as the fireteam leader, Mordin in the vents, Thane in the weapons check, Jack in the armour check, Kasumi in the shields check, Samara by way of the seekers with Miranda or Jacob as the biotic *AND* making sure Zaeed goes back with the crew while Grunt and Garrus stay with Shepard for the boss fight...Miranda still lives because she still has Jacob and Legion.

And as I said, even that's all assuming he didn't bother upgrading and I still can't see a way to kill her off.

It may not be a nice thing to do, but I tend to quit out of lobbies that don't have at least two people already waiting (after the count of ten) and just keep searching till I find one. Yeah, it's irritating, but it beats sitting around forever waiting for people to get their shit together.

Not sure how well a bot would cope in this sort of game. They were only somewhat useful in L4D and that was mostly because all they did was stick close by you. A lot of the time the worst thing you can do is all bunch up like that. The best tactic is usually to spread out far enough that you can cover each others flanks, but not so far you can come a running on a few seconds notice.

One of the most annoying things I often see on the Novaria level is everyone crowding by the upper platform, all trying to get insta-kills as the baddies come round the corner below. Most often this means they totally ignore everything else and muggins here finds himself dealing with the landing pad AND the corridors on his own. It's right up there on the infuriate-o-meter with snipers who stand next to you while you're in cover, blocking your view so you can't lean out and get a clear shot. I even had one guy try to push me out of cover. Got even later though when I left him to deal with an Atlas all by his weak infiltrator self. Would have survived too if he had brains enough to just cloak and run past the thing. But no, he had to try and snipe in from a dead end corner of the map. :p

Well I just pre-ordered my copy through the Playstation Store. That way I won't have to wait a week or two to get it from the UK. ;)

Looking forward to seeing that at a friends place who owns a Kinect.. i'm not planning on getting one anytime soon since it's too imprecise for my taste and the games i've seen with it are either not my cup of tea or just plain boring.

    Other thing:
Been playing the demo for the past few days and especially the Multiplayer and so far not very impressed from the technical side.

It takes ages to load (even when going back to the lobby) and many times you need to wait forever to for the 4th member to activate "Ready" to begin the game.. i know you can kick him but that too takes ages.
I also had so many failed connections or drops mid game that i honestly start to get worried.. the demo appeared a few weeks prior to launch and if it's this buggy and unrefined i'm fearing the worst.

I'm used to the fast response times in games like Modern Warfare 3 where the game loads quickly and the drops/disconnects from other players are also handled quick and ME3 doesn't even come close to that.

There has been a fair bit of chatter on the bioware forums and as far as I can see, Bioware are saying the major problems were fixed in the final game, but those fixes came too late to make it into the demo. No doubt there will still be bugs (I haven't seen an RPG yet that didn't at least get up to a 1.3 patch within the first six months) but hopefully they're not game breakers. Realistically though, it's not reasonable to expect the same quality of MP as MW3. That game is purpose built for MP and has a lot more money and resources thrown at it to make sure the servers keep up with demand.

But yes, I've noticed the slow loads and frequent timeouts. I suspect it has as much to do with their servers as the game itself. The demo is after all, something of a public beta for the MP. The SP part of the demo was probably just bait. ;)

Just booted up ME2 last night in an attempt to get my Adept Shep closer to lv30 for the import (poor thing was all the way down at lv23) and I noticed that the in-game Cerberus News is back up!

I missed a few but luckily it turns out to be the same stuff that's being posted on that twitter feed I linked to before. Some interesting stuff already; most recently the Batarian homeworld has gone dark. One assumes that means the reapers have hit there already. Makes sense given the events of Arrival. There's also mention of the prothean tech on Garvug that was revealed in that months long story they played out back in 2010. A possible side mission for ME3 perhaps?

Oh, and there's a new live action trailer out too.

Didn't mind the live action trailer, it had it's moments. Though I just gonna say, how much would it take to get Vanderloo to shave his damn head again and throw him in that armour? We all know EA has deep pockets, I'm sure someone thought of doing it. I mean, he has aged a bit but I still think he could pull it off. Just don't give him any speaking lines and we literally have a live action "John Shepard".

Dragon Age II is only on v1.2 (on consoles). It needs a 1.3, but EA is too cheap to pay for it.

It's funny you should say that because given Sheppard's rank, he should be about Vanderloo's age

Pretty sure it got up to 1.3 on PC. No idea why it would be any different for consoles.

I'm certain that the fact that they didn't use him is a pretty good indication that for some reason (be it budgetary, scheduling or the guy just not being interested) it just wasn't feasible.

Ah, but what is Shepard's rank these days. As far as the codex is concerned, Shepard is still a Lt. Cmdr.

^Yeah, I noticed and wondered about that too. Probably a bit of an oversight as you'd think a promotion to full Commander would be a given after the end of ME1 and even that's assuming it didn't already happen when she was given command of the Normandy in place of Anderson.

...but then again by the end of ME3, Shepard will probably be doing the job of a General or Admiral and yet, still a Commander by rank.

Personally, I'm still confused by how Ash who was a non-com in ME1 & 2 is now suddenly a LtCmdr. What was the time span supposed to be between ME2 & 3? Six months? A year at the outside? That's a hell of a promotion. Actually, now that I think about it, doesn't Kaiden (for those who didn't nuke him of course) now outrank Shepard? I wonder how that will be addressed.
