Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Nope. We've not even got an article on the wrap of the production which should be pretty soon. Man of Steel has been somewhat under the radar. It actually reminds me a bit of "Inception" in terms of security and a lack of information. We were lucky to get all the set photos we did I think. They should be wrapping up production pretty soon like I said, since the bulk of the film's production was in Vancouver/Vancouver Island. I think they were heading to Los Angeles after ward to complete principal.

I thought Watchmen actually worked great in the theater (surrounded by all the hype and the enthusiastic crowd), but once I saw it at home all that flashy style just wasn't enough anymore, and it was clear there just wasn't much going on there.

I still hold out hope for Superman though. He DOES have a very badass visual style which I can't wait to see translated to the character, and hopefully Nolan's influence will help him keep the story a bit more grounded...

I've seen Watchmen for the first time today, and oh boy, The Man of Steel is going to be a trainwreck...

I saw it right away in the theater and had the same reaction. I can't imagine I would like any film Zac Synder ever makes.

Snyder hasn't made a good film since Dawn of the Dead, imo - and that was no masterpiece. I only have faith in this flick for four reasons:
1. Christopher Nolan
2. I can't see them really screwing it up with such a big-time cast and budget. They seem to really be pulling out all the stops on this one.
3. The last film failed, so they probably want to get this one right.
4. Christopher Nolan

But Superman as a character has never really been about being "badass," has he? It would seem to me the Superman character lends himself more to a director like Brad Bird, Joe Johnston, Robert Zemeckis or, in a pipe dream, Stephen Spielberg.
