"Thank you!" from Ziyal

One year ago today, I requested prayers and good vibes because I had just been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. I had been a member of the bbs for a year, but didn't particularly feel like part of the community and didn't expect too much of a response.

Well! You guys blew me away with your concern and support. Totally overwhelmed me! In retrospect, I cannot imagine how I would've made it this far, especially the first few months, without you guys.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU -- for the prayers and good vibes, the kitty pictures and silly videos, and, most of all, your friendship.

Someone who is no longer here posted this in my initial thread: "I have no doubt a year from now you'll be like 'maaaan remember when I had that tumor? LOL now but boy was that SERIOUS for awhile!'" That quote has been sitting on my desktop for a year now, cheering me on. I'm not LOL'ing about it all yet, but I'm getting there. :)

March 15 will be a year since the surgery. My mobility is still limited but improving by the day. B&B will probably never be 100% but have improved enough to be easily manageable. Wound has still not completely healed -- yes, folks, I've still got the wound vac, and therefore still have home health care three days a week. Sigh.

I just had another set of MRI's and CT scans done. I'll know the results on Tuesday, when I see the neurosurgeon. He's told me before that I have an 80 to 85 percent chance of the tumor not recurring -- ever -- so I'm hopeful.

Love,
Ziyal

Hey, all it takes is five minutes to type the message and/or insert the picture. You're welcome anyway! :)

You've probably been missing the cat pictures- I shouldn't have stopped. Well here's one to make up for it:

It's you! :D

Anyways, good luck with your results! Make sure you check back in to let us all know. ;)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you still! You're brave and awesome and it seems you can kick cancer's rear end.

T.Z.

A year ago I was still avoiding the Lounges, so I had no idea. Be prepaired for a years worth of T&Ps, good vibes, and anything else you need to come your way. Happy to hear of your progress. Fingers, toes, and anything else I can find to cross prepped for Tuesday!

Congrats TZ!

You are from Baltimore, so in a few weeks I shall hoist some  at Camden Yards in your honor. :techman:

All my hopes and prayers for good news..

I really didn't post much in Misc last year but am trying to maybe post a little more this year and wanted to say that's great that everything is progressing and hope it continues to be that way each day. Positive support is always a good thing, both physically and mentally. Hopefully you'll be near or at 100% cancer free and healthy by the end of the year.

I never posted much, but I always hoped you were getting better, and continue in that hope today.

I haven't posted much in your recovery thread, but know that I have never stopped sending thoughts and good vibes to you. And I shall continue as before.

Hope your body will be back in shape very soon and that your wound will finally heal so you can move on to happier, funnier activities. :)

Ooh, more kitties! Jaytrek, feel free to think of that adorable little guy as me, but I fear I'm not nearly that cute. ;)

So I post a "thank you", and in response a bunch of people tell me how little they did. :sigh: Don't sell yourselves short, guys!

And thanks for all the new good wishes. I'll be glad when Tuesday is over.

Well, if it really did help you that much, then I'm definitely glad I've posted the messages that I have, and I'm sure everyone else is too. :)

Moar kittehs! :
