Ideas for my Trek/Dr. Who Crossover

Cassy and the misses taking a hike on the world Cassy lives on.

Here's a few shots of Cassy riding with a party of goblins, to a battle, and can see one of Cassy's creations on her left hand. :D
We also get to see just how humongous some of the wildlife on the plant Cassy lives on can be.

Sometimes, Cassy will travel with the Doctor from time to time, and between one adventure and another, she'll find an empty, unused spot in the TARDIS, and spend some time playing some music. Here we get to see her do just that, plus a nice shot or two of her splendid musculature.

Again, like I said, using a Soyuz class would violate canon, since it was mentioned in the episode that the Bozeman appeared in that all Soyuz class vessels had been decommissioned by then. There is zero chance of them appearing in the 2380s or 90s, so unless you retcon your story to be based before they were decommissioned, which I think was listed as 2285, there is no sense in using one.

And to answer your question pertaining to what type of vessel that a new captain might receive command of, it depends on a number of factors. If he/she displayed outstanding performance of his/her duties, and/or attracted the attention of a captain or admiral with enough influence, he/she might receive command of a brand new vessel, especially if there aren't many other candidates. You might want to also consider that the missions that a captain is assigned is dependent on the capabilities of his/her vessel, so a captain assigned with missions into possibly hostile areas of space, such as the Romulan Neutral Zone, would likely be in command of a formidable vessel, or be part of a task force or fleet.

By the 2380s, older ships, especially ones that are so old that they have phaser banks instead of phaser arrays, would rarely, if ever, be given assignments that could take them into harms way. Older classes such as the Miranda and Excelsior (with exceptions of newer builds or examples outfitted with the latest equipment, such as the Krakow or Queensland variants) would likely be assigned patrol in Federation systems along many newer vessels assigned with the same purpose, or be used for intra-Federation cargo runs (that's right-milk runs!), and that is before they are finally decommissioned.

What if that Soyuz was also Time warped or newly built to look old but actually have advanced equipment or pulled from Mothballs and refitted? :)

I doubt all the old ships would be pulled out, especially if they are still usable. And a ship for deep space exploration's going to need to be roomy, I think.

Here's a possible idea for a personal ship for Cassy, I just came up with this about an hour or two ago, so I don't know if I'll go with this or not.

I was thinking, since The Doctor was UNIT's scientific adviser, I was thinking Cassy would be an adviser to Starfleet from time to time, and The Doctor got a car, I could see Cassy having a ship. Now I was picturing that Cassy's good friend, the mysterious Admiral Robert April (in my stories, he's extremely enigmatic, and been around before even Starfleet was formed. I'll leave it at that for now) was able to get for her an older hull, a destroyer, the USS Pegasus, that was just floating in some old depot, probably the same one we saw in "Unification parts 1 & 2".

Cassy then, in secret, went to heavily modify the partially dismantled hull. She added 2 more engine pods, and mounted 2 dishes. For the internals, she incorporated a lot of fairly new Starfleet technology, but also supplemented it Timelord technology she learned from the Doctor, as well as Dalek technology she back engineered, and some other odds and ends she learned during her own travels.

The warp drive is brand new, using Dalek technology, which is a bit faster than Starfleet's, and the ship has Timelord de-materialization circuit to be used for extreme emergencies where one has to get the hell out of some place. And it takes several hours for the mechanism to re-energize for another use.

The weaponry consists of standard Starfleet phasers, but also comes with Cassy's unique ripple phaser which causes damage across a wider arc. The torpedoes are standard make. The shields are normal starship shields.

The sensors and computers are what has been the most severely altered with the other technology Cassy learned. In fact, the bridge resembles more of a TARDIS console room than a Starfleet bridge. Also, apart from a small crew consisting of living, sentient macines, the ship is heavily automated. Cassy also jury-rigged some computer systems from several modern Starfleet shuttle craft to replace some of the aging systems her augmentations could not.

The ship ship is mainly for travel and exploration, but can hold handle itself in a fight when it needs to. Cassy is using the reverse of the Romulans when it comes to their ship designing. Where as the Romulans make these biggy, maxy sized behemoths, Cassy prefers to use deception, as in looking small and harmless, but in actuality being capable of giving an enemy on tremendous repair bill.:D

I'm just coming up with this stuff tonight, I might make changes here and there as time goes on, if I do keep this idea for my stories.:)
Here's some pictures of it. My bag 'o separate ship parts are limited right now, so once I manage to find more, I might do a lot more changes to it. I also would like to somehow put "C-Liner" on the front of the saucer, if it were possible.

These here are significant elements to the setting. On the planet Cassy lives on, she lives underground in the city of Metallica, which is inhabited by a race of living machines that can think and have feelings (no relation to the Machine Planet from TMP, though). She lives an apartment in one of the large rock formations in the city, as does her mentor, Uncle Smoke Bailey (no relation, just that everyone calls him uncle Smoke), whom you can think of as Master Roshi, minus the perverted traits, mixed with old Obi-Won.

Here's what the Metallicans would look like.
Here's the heavy labor Metallicans, who do stuff mainly with mining for raw materials, clearing away rubble, and heavy building.
MetallicanWorkers.jpg
They also double as warriors when they have to defend themselves, since their bodies were built to withstand lots of punishment and hostile conditions. These ones are: Mining, Warrior (pure combat ones), Standard Laborer, Standard Laborer in Maru Mari Configuration (they can scrunch into a ball, a sorta homage to the original Metroid), and a bulldozing Laborer.

Here's the standard, multipurpose Metallican bodies. After Cassy had lived with them for so many years, the Metallicans made some feminine body design for some of them to use. And they named the female design the "Cassy Class". And Cassy said, "Whoa, cool! That's one classy Cassy chassis!" :D
MetallicanStandard.jpg
Here's the aforementioned female design, a hovering design, a small walker design, and an androgynous, humanoid model.

The case of using a decommissioned vessel for personal use makes a lot more sense, as opposed to having a vessel still in Starfleet service that probably should have been decommissioned, especially if it were at Cassy's request, or if she wanted to modify her ship, but Starfleet Command wasn't comfortable with her drastically modifying a relatively newer vessel still in service (adding systems not intended can cause problems). The only factor in believability might be whether or not the Pegasus was refitted during her service, or decommissioned as she looks now, minus the additional nacelles and navigational deflectors, though this might be more of an issue of opinion on the history service of the Pegasus. Might not hurt to check Memory Beta to make sure that you don't contradict anything.
