Diagnose my pain!

Long term, I'd say you have to see a doc. If it's bad, you might be doing things right now that are making it worse. Don't do that to yourself.

Indeed.

Years ago, I hurt my toe, but it never occurred to me that it could be broken. By the time it hurt badly enough that I begrudgingly went to the doctor, I had taken a couple two-mile walks on it. The doc was not pleased. And the toe took much longer to heal than it should've.

Just sayin', RoJoHen.

I agree with what the majority is saying here. None of us (that I know of,anyway) is qualified to "Diagnose my pain". Would be like asking my Mom to diagnose a computer problem for me-- the best she could do is say "Don't worry about it and it'll get better", which seems to be what you are looking for here. I used to lift weights and run quite a bit. I never had tennis elbow (from biceps curls, I guess) or plantar fasciitis (running in shoes with poor arch support) before, but I went to the sports medicine doc and got what I needed to get better and advised what NOT to do so as to not make it worse. I would rather take the time and money (and I paid for it myself- not the insurance company) to make sure I was not aggravating the injury and making it worse. I know too many middle-aged "ex-exercisers" who now have problems because they were tough enough to not need to go to a doctor in younger years. And they no longer exercise, which is sad and not healthy.

If the problem is still bugging you days from now, please consider checking in with a doctor. You could be saving yourself some chronic pain later in life.

People always make the mistake of taking me too seriously. Yes, my shoulder hurts. No, I was not actually seeking a medical diagnosis from a Star Trek message board.

Kestra is the only one who gets me.

So, after spending the whole day on the couch having a "How I Met Your Mother" marathon, I sat up and cracked my neck.

And now my shoulder is better.

Hurray!

Is it bad that when I read about paying to see the doctor, it took a few seconds before I realised it was a serious comment?

Your pain is caused by one of two things:

1) You took your father off life support one week before a cure was found.

2) You are half-vulcan and half-human.

I recommend Dr. Sybok. Don't worry, he's a homeopathic doctor.

First, I would like to preface this with: No, I am not going to the doctor.

That said, my shoulder hurts! I have suffered minor shoulder injuries before from weight lifting, but this is something new. I don't remember hurting it this time, but I imagine it is still related to lifting.

When I raise my arm, I have a very sharp pain that shoots through the front of my shoulder and into my collarbone. It doesn't hurt when my arm is at rest, but I can push on the top of my shoulder (my clavicle, maybe?) and there is a more dull pain, like pushing on a bruise.

Not sure what is going on. I am still able to function just fine. It's just very odd and very annoying.

I believe I know exactly what this is, but since you didn't want a doctor's opinion, I can't tell you. :p

I said I wouldn't go to a doctor, but if a doctor wants to come to me and give me free information, I'm all ears.

Why wouldn't you go to a doctor again? No insurance? There are free clinics in many major metropolitan areas, you know...

Because I don't go to doctors for minor aches and pains that I know they can't do anything about. I haven't been to a doctor in 6 years.

OK, you're suffering from a condition that will indeed cause you to become all ears by the weekend. Ears will suddenly sprout up all over your body, and before you know it, you'll die of sonic trauma.

Alas poor RoJo, we knew him well...
