Practically a rowboat?
Kathy wouldn't have been able to win that fight in the pilot with e Kazon, and she wouldn't have had that tricolbolt device to dispose of the Array with, but without a good fight in front of the array, Caretakers self destruct wouldn't have been damaged "accidentally".
The Kazon were smart enough to deactivate Voyager's self destruct once, considering they're scooning around in someone else's fleet, they've preformed that trick numerous times, so it might be their standard practice to disable the self destruct rather than that one time in Basics, it was just Seska helping them not be idiots.
A small ship means less time in open space, which means a different course with maybe twice the layovers, which would have to be charted, and the ship would also be much slower... A Novas Class Vessel wouldn't be 70 years from home, they might be 80, maybe a hundred years form Earth at convventional Warp. Longer? At what point would Janeway have decided to pull a Ransom, fold her principles in half and be a more obvious monster... But if the trip home from the beginning seems utterly impossible, all she would have had to have done is lie to Craetaker and agree to look after the Ocampa after he dies, or any other lies past that, like telling that Kazon Maje Jabin, that he was dead sexy and how would he like a drink and a cuddle before he sent her ship home?
Failing that, if the Kazon held the Array, does that mean that Janeway could negotiate/purchase transport back to the Alpha Quadrant, or that she would have been stuck in orbit of Ocampa for the next 30 years defending those pixy children from the Kazon menace waiting for them to grow up as a species?
I'm hungry.
