Agreed--I think Stan did understand what Danny did. Stan's a new dad, and he's always come across as a good guy. I like that he's never been the stereotypical jerk new husband. He's nice to Grace and Danny.

I'm sure it will be mostly forgotten by the next episode, but I kind of hope not. I'd love to see Danny a little jumpy and nervous after what happened to Grace and to him, and Steve being concerned and protective. I also want to see where things really stand with Rachel and Danny.

Didn't Stan say something like "For Grace?" before being shot? I think he got the "message".

Till the day Stan finds out that Danny and Rachel had a bit of rumpy-pumpy :)

Loved tonight's episode for five reasons:

    LORI'S GONE!!!!!
Danny still dating Gaby is referenced
    LORI'S GONE!!!!!
Steve reconnected with Catherine (even after Lori admitted her feelings to him)
    LORI'S GONE!!!!!

    Did I mention LORI'S GONE?

I'm not sure what the point of Lori's character was. She was supposed to make sure 5-0 didn't cross the line and report to the Governor about how they conducted themselves but we never saw her really do anything in that direction. She pretty much joined in with the team and how they do things. When they introduced her I thought it would generate more conflict on the team...never really happened. It all kind of fizzled.

I enjoyed the episode but the time jumping was completely unnecessary.

Yeah, her role was completely wasted. I thought, like you, she was going to be the wet blanket in terms of holding the team back from doing what they did in the first season.

This was never shown or indicated even in the episode she premiered in. Instead, she was regulated to a will they/won't they love interest for Steve (which, again, amounted to nothing).

I'm sure Lori will return in some form in the future. Hopefully, the writers will utilize her character better.

I might be reaching here, but I'm guessing you're not a big fan of Lori. ;)

I thought it was an overall good ep. Be interesting to see where things go from here.

Haha. Yes, as I've expressed earlier in this thread, I am not a fan. It isn't the actress's fault. Her character was just so poorly introduced and handled into the show that she didn't add anything that wasn't already there. Her role seemed so superfluous.

Another reason she was brought on to the show was as a red herring. It looked like she was replacing Grace Park on the show when it looked like she was no longer on the police force. but then it became quite obvious that Kono was working undercover so even then it wasn't effective.

I knew Lori would be leaving as soon as I read the episode description:

If one of the main cast members was leaving, it would have been all over the web and we'd have known weeks ago. Just by default, it was going to be Lori.

I didn't hate her character, but she didn't really add much to the show, either. Maybe now that she's gone, there'll be a bit more for Chin Ho and Kono to do, because they're the ones who suffered the most as far as screen time and character development.

Awww, I felt bad for Lori. She had this big unrequited crush on Steve. :( I'm glad they addressed that in her dialogue at the end.

I liked that the ep used the flashback style throughout, rather than starting the episode and then going back and not revisiting the beginning until the story caught up. That was pretty cool.

Steve and Danno's bickering over the tickets cracked me up. Who else are they going to take to the games but each other?? Also, Steve is apparently a "topper."

It was fun to see everyone all dressed up at the party. The men on the show are so pretty--as are the ladies, so there's something for everyone. This show is just pure escapist fun.

Anyone think the colors are kind of "odd" in the outdoor scenes, especially the aerial shots? It really pops out in the credits.

Probably a stylistic choice to highlight the Hawaiian landscape.

Whatever they're doing, they shouldn't stop, because those landscape shots always look gorgeous. Makes me wish I could afford a trip to Hawai'i. :(

I was reading somewhere (possibly TV Guide) where someone asked a producer what they did to make the scenery look so good. He said they don't do anything, it's just naturally that pretty there.

I found a reference to the TV Guide article here in the second paragraph.

    Wait, Lori's gone? :wah:

I really liked her. She seemed to get stuff done instead of....doing f-all like Kono's been doing lately.

In fact, that's probably the reason. To me Lori was outshining Kono every week. I loved Grace Park in BSG, but she does seem to phone in most of her work on the show if you ask me.

Great avatar!! Always thought Jack Lord's eye opening thing he does as he turns to face the camera was kinda creepy in a cool way. :techman:

See, I'm looking at it like now that Lori's gone, maybe Kono will have something to do again. :p

They definitely have the color saturation cranked way up for those scenes, similar to how Smallville did in its early seasons (the only ones I actually watched, so I don't know if this changed over time). Hawaii's a colorful place but even it can't defy the laws behind human vision.

As for Lori, I get what they were trying to do with her character (possible replacement for Kono) but the writers never really committed to it, especially when the Kono arc ended after only a handful of episodes. Instead she was just assimilated into 5-0 instantly.
