"John Carter of Mars" Moving Ahead!

Clothing is pretty much frowned upon on Barsoom in all the books, as I recall.
And since the movie has too much Plot (And too high a Budget) to go for an X Rating, they kinda gotta put some clothes on them, despite it going against Canon
Well, it would take more than nudity to get an X Rating, but I'm sure Disney thinks nudity would compromise the box office.

we don't want this turning into spartacus do we?
I don't know. I've never seen it.

That does put a wrinkle in the story telling.
Dejah Thoris never got wrinkled, either. :rommie:

Although, yea it takes more than a little nudity to warrant an X Rating, but, having all the characters running around naked, all the time, is an entirely different story, and I think would qualify, LOL

Well, it was made for Disney Channel, so obviously they're going to single that stuff out. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised to see them promoting a PG-13 movie on Disney Channel.

Considering the production budget, I'd be surprised if there was a single outlet owned by Disney that wasn't promoting the hell out of this movie.

Seven months of principal photography, a massive cast of actors, a huge amount of digital effects (just look at how long the IMDB cast and crew page is) -- it's not a mystery where all the money went. Nearly being the most expensive movie ever made at $250 million, the budget may be a trifle excessive, but it's not hard to imagine why it was so expensive.

The film will apparently be about 2h17min (don't know if this is with or without credits) which seems like a good run time for this kind of story.

very cool and most likely we will have to sit through the credits just in case they put something in the very end.

It does look like fun, I hope it gets released in Korea at the same time. I am still waiting for Underworld, it opens at the bottom of February.

I definitely want to see this on the big screen! :techman: It looks like it could be fun.
