Considering the total bullshit that played out in "Journey's End" and "The Wedding of River Song", why would you apply realism here?!

Well, it does eliminate the Time Lords, who both RTD and Moffat have gone on record as saying they never cared for. Therefore, I'm going to assume we won't be seeing any more of the Time Lords, and that realism prevailed and they all got wiped out when Gallifrey was destroyed.
Except the Master. He'll have survived via some convoluted means. It's his thing, what he does.
^^^ I really love how he was utterly burnt to cinders in Planet of Fire but appeared completely unharmed in Mark of the Rani with no explanation whatsoever!
I just take it as a long-term aftereffect of stealing the regenerative energies of the Source of Traken. Ditto for how he was able to turn into the slimy snake thingy that possessed Eric Roberts in the '96 movie.
I've been hanging onto that dream since the series came back.
They brought them back only to screw up the oppurtunity in the story they came back in.
I, on the other hand, really hope they don't. The Time Lords are like the lost continent of Atlantis -- much more interesting and dramatic in their absence than in their presence.
I, too, would love to have them back. All the more so, if the Daleks can keep showing up like cockroaches.
See, I could never quite accept that the masters of time and space could be so throughly wiped out. I really believed that at least a small remnant of The Time Lords were manipulating events in season one but I was wrong. I guess I'm optimistic that they are still out there in hiding somewhere.
While the Time Lock being broken might allow them to survive, it wouldn't explain the Doctor not knowing about them. Chameleon Arch has almost the exact opposite problem. It explains why the Doctor wouldn't know about them, but it doesn't explain how they would escape or why they would rewrite their DNA.
I agree about the other two. I tend to think they should bring back Lalla Ward by having an episode or two set in E-Space.

I could easily see some machination resulting from the second big bang that could bring them back in full force.
I always figured that since The Master ended up going with them that given the inevitability of said Masters return that the Time Lords could come with him. I just have a gut feeling that SM isn't interested in bringing them back.
I would love to see a Romana in NuWho, Bonus points if Lalla Ward played the Character. The Audios actually had her leaving E-Space, so, wouldn't even need to be E-Space, but, E-Space would be cool, give them a chance to try some wacky new things.
