Awesome. I just wish we didn't have to wait so long, but I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it.
It's only next summer.

Also the movie is on the same fast track as "First Class"

McAvoy was cast around May 27th 2010

The movie was released in June 2011.

I strongly remember the worry about only having a year or so to prepare a movie.
I don't think Fox would release two X-movies in the same year, unless one was during the summer and the other during the winter.

It didn't seem to hurt 'Thor' or 'Captain America' being so close to each other last summer. -shrug- who knows.

I hope Jane Goldman comes back to work on the script. I don't trust Simon Kinberg. I have a feeling that Vaughn and Goldman will touch up the script somewhat. Daniel Craig would be an excellent Captain Britain. Don't see it happening though...I think when Jackson Archer and I discussed a release date he said May 2013...he can correct me if I'm wrong. I argued that Fox won't put this up against "Man of Steel" which comes out in June. May is fine but it will be up against "Iron Man 3" if that is the case. I think I said something like 2014 lol. I don't see the problem with Fox having two or three Marvel superhero films out next year, if one assumes that "The Wolverine" actually starts filming soon, and the other film is the "Daredevil" reboot.

^ Goldman and Vaughn seem to work together quite regularly. I'd be extremely surprised if he didn't at least get her to touch up Kinberg's script. Remember how many writers were supposed to have written the last movie?

It currently is untitled and demotion there were up to six writers involved last movie, I only brought up Jane because she is quoted I believe as saying she didn't know if she or Vaughn would return for the sequel. She has also said this for "Kick-Ass 2" as well.

^ What I mean is basically, where Matthew goes Jane is likely to go; now that he's confirmed, we can probably expect her to join him. IIRC, they didn't get a full writing credit for the last movie but it undeniably bore their handprints. I'd imagine FC2 will be something similar.

Yeah I got that...and they didn't get writing credit, something that Singer was pissed about it. It was a controversial WGA ruling. I knew what you meant :)

I'm kind of ready for the pendelum to swing back. That for whatever story purpose Singer has to use something from The Last Stand, for simplicity or studio mandate, thus turning the joke on it's head.

^ YES!!! You know this joke should also expand to include X-Men Origins: Wolverine...but that wasn't really what triggered it in the first place so I guess it gets left out :(

Yea, poor X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it's at least as deserving of being ignored as The Last Stand, but, it never gets enough credit to be ignored, because it was so traumatizing, it's been blanked out of everyone's mind for their own mental health
