Since we are spitballing how about a turn on the phrasing from the second movie X2:XMen United. With the results of how First Class ended how about XMen: Divided?

Sinister is being saved for X4, where it'll be revealed that the Jean Grey in TLS was really just a defective clone (ala Madelyne Pryor) created by Sinister. The unstable clone teleported Cyclops to Sinister's hideout, where Jean has been in captivity, and Sinister is attempting to use Scott and Jean to create a mutant powerful enough to destroy Apocalypse. It all makes sense! :p

that was my idea back when X3 came out.

I think you and I hashed out similar ideas earlier in the thread when this topic came up before. We're going in circles! :ouch:

@Greg I absolutely LOVE that title. They should go with that. I have a feeling they'll take out the First Class title since it was meant to be metaphoric not literal. First Class could be looked at I suppose as a soft reboot if you want while still somewhat fitting into the film continuity. "The Wolverine" was planning on ignoring Origins as well, but that was when Aronofsky was directing, Not sure if that will still be the case.

I'm not surprised...we just got "The Amazing Spider-Man" for the reboot film, fans have been wanting these films and others to use the comic titles, and move producers or whoever seem to be against using them for whatever reason.

But you need to have the Fantastic Four find Jean Grey's body in stasis at the bottom of Alkali Lake in their new reboot movie (that would make a good post-credits scene :) )

On a serious point though, I think its too late for an X4 to happen. It won't be made while they're still doing the "prequel trilogy" which will end when? Let's say 2013-14 for Second Class? 2017 for Third Class.

So after that? 2020?

Way too much time will have passed for the original actors to reprise their roles effectively. Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellan would be nearly 80, Shawn Ashmore 40ish, Famke Janssen 50ish, Hugh Jackman 50+ etc. It won't happen.

Unless they recast them all, and in that case what's the point, you may as well just 100% reboot it all
