Great start to the season! Boyd getting himself thrown in prison so he can get revenge competes with Raylan's tablecloth maneuver for Best Badass Ploy. :D

Raylan and Winona are so lovey-lovey that I'm suspicious the writers have some nasty surprise planned. Maybe the moneybag plotline isn't over and Winona ends up pregnant and in prison?

and Boyd walking past Dickie in jail and giving him an intimidating stare was terrific.

I felt like a dummy, it took the whole episode and that scene in particular for me to get why Boyd went into the Marshall's office and picked a fight with Raylan.

Yeah I was pretty much duuuuuhhhh on that whole thing, too. :rommie: Boyd can be mysterious and borderline psycho, so that's my defense - who knows what that guy might do?

Have to agree, great start to this new season. I love how bad@$$ Boyd is. I was a little concerned after last season that I would be fed up with Raylan and Winona's relationship, but I like the dynamics between them a little more now. I do hope we don't get situation after situation where Raylan has to save Winona. Boring.

Ava seems to have come fully over to "the dark side" of the law now.

I like the new bad guy in town.

Loved the season premeire. I thought all the elements were great and I can't wait to see what this season has to offer. Raylan's confrontation with Fletcher was classic Justified and I'm even finding myself enjoying Ava's new role. Though the best part was the early scene between Raylan and Body. Well-written and incredibly fun.

Even Winona didn't annoy me. I liked their relationship a lot in Season 1 but Winona annoyed the hell out of me in Season 2 with her stupidity. I liked Raylan better as the lone gun. I'm still not happy about the baby storyline (nothing good comes from that usually on shows) but I think the Raylan/Winona interaction was much better in the premeire and the executive producer said they were trying to rehabilitate the character.

Anyway, exciting stuff. They'll have to work hard to make up for the loss of Mags but I have confidence in this show.

Raylan with the tablecloth was a great way to show how he's badass but also really intelligent. Great scene.

Well, Raylan probably also knew the casefiles of Mr. Icepick by then, so he had a bit of advantage compared to the killer's other victims. ;)

I was wondering why Mr. Icepick didn't realize that Raylan would know about his MO. A small nitpick I guess. Chalk it up to overconfidence or lack of experience confronting lawmen as opposed to his usual gangster targets.

I agree he should have considered it but I'll chalk it up to overconfidence too. The executive producer was asked why Fletcher doesn't just kill his victims outrigth. He pointed out that Fletcher knows he's going to kill them anyone. It's safe to say he does this because he's a sadist who enjoys it.

Fletcher seemed to be an egoist who let his eccentric personal sense of style get in the way of practicality. Not wearing a mask for instance - all that did was guarantee that he'd have to kill more people than strictly necessary. So, yeah, he was a sadist.

Tonight's was pretty good; it certainly went by quickly. More importantly, we got lots of set-up for the upcoming season. There are lots of new and interesting players on the board; I look forward to seeing where this goes.

Finally watched last night's episode. Not a lot happened, but a decent filler/set-up episode. Looks like we have a couple of new baddies to contend with this season. Robert Quarles the mafia guy and now the Limehouse man who has Mags Bennett's money in safe-keeping. I think Raylan will have to spend more time contending with the Mafia guy and Boyd is going to be raising all kinds of ruckus going after Limehouse.

For a little backwater town, Harlan sure does have its fair share of criminal masterminds and bosses.

Well bosses at least. Masterminds don't get taken out by a lawman who is not even investigating them because his agency doesn't investigate.

The best part was when the pawn shop guy and the lackey were argueing with each other who gets the better deal if they turn themselves in and then they wind up shooting each other. just a fantastic scenior. the body count is going up slowly this season.

^That was pretty damn funny, though, in a certain twisted way. Raylan took out two bad guys, who were out to kill him, and he didn't even have to take his gun out its holster.

That roulette scene was pretty hard to watch, too. I pretty much knew how it would end, but didn't guess the way in which it would happen.

this season so far has a low body count from last season. though so far it has a great story building.

Yes, it is. Neal McDonough is so good at these types of bad guys; I hope he sticks around to be the foil for Raylan.
