Being Human (UK) series 4

Does anybody know if
George and Nina are at least there in the first episode before they're written off the show? Or is their absence done off screen and explained through Annie?

They're there for the first episode or two. George is in the trailer and Russell Tovey talked about filming Being Human on his twitter.

Haha I guess I should have watched the trailer before I asked.

George is... Nina isn't.

I was so eager to see this end of last year... Now I'm cautiously reserved, but at least I finally decided to give it a go despite the cast changes.

Hoping this season works.

I watched 3 and a half seasons of vampire diaries in 3 days this week.

Pulling the bandaid off quickly you know.

They were telling a complex and involved story and I could appreciate how much effort they dedicated to their project to make sure that the entire endeavour seemed like a 34 hour long seamless movie... But I'm just not into it.

The new episode of Being Buman shook me.

Adrenalin, blood rushing this way and that.

I was screaming at the TV screen.

Although.

It took me about half a second to feel the influence of Chris Claremont.

Well then...

That was not what I was expecting at all.

I'm still not happy that Sinead Keenan wasn't given a proper goodbye , but damn Whithouse for not delivering something 10x more interesting than what I was thinking we'd get.

I don't mind characters leaving for the sake of a story but I guess I just wonder if SHE quit on her own terms or if she was forced to "say enough" since Russel was leaving already and that's the way they decided to go...

Bonus Points for adding "Time Travel"

Alrighty, let's do this then. :techman:

Kinda felt like they'd got scenes of the terminator mixed in there some how, but it was good, and interesting enough, so I'll be happy enough to see where it goes. But Being Human never did seem like a show with an epic apocalypse waiting to happen.

Yeah, the show always seemed smaller and more personal, but this has changed of late as the focus has shifted invariably away from the core cast and expanded outward.

I loved it - that's how to send off a character.

Plus added hot Terminator-style time traveller and another a loopy ghost. I'm looking forward to it all!

But they're in competition with the US show.

Those yank fucks jumped their marks and they were exploring identical avenues as the Poms, seasons earlier than they should because their seasons are twice the size and they have to logically create entertaining filler.

The UK Edition now has to clearly define themselves as not the same show.

Last year both the same werewolf met his dad who had issues in the same week on both sides of the Atlantic.

Coincidences like that have to be generated less frequently.

So, to my surprise Being Human has been picked up for 5th series.

Being Human, BBC Three’s award winning and critically-acclaimed drama series, will return for a fifth series. The unconventional trio of a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost will live on as six more episodes, commissioned for BBC Three next year.
Creator and Exec Producer Toby Whithouse is keeping plans closely under wraps, but he can confirm that werewolf Tom (Michael Socha) and vampire Hal (Damien Molony) will return.
Toby says: "Being Human lives on! The response to series four has been terrific. We're thrilled that the audience has taken the new cast into their hearts with such enthusiasm and affection and we're delighted to have this opportunity to expand their world further, exploring new characters and telling new stories. A heartfelt thank-you to all the fans for their unstinting support and to the BBC for letting us mess up the sandpit for a fifth year."

Agree. Kinda suspected that the season would end this way as soon as they introduced the new ghost. I really hoped they wouldn't do it, but when they did, I absolutely loved how it was done.

I also loved the very end, where Hal asked Tom why he was helping him "detox", expecting some ulterior motive, and Tom surprised him with the answer, "Because you're my best mate".

Just like last year's finale, this one made me cry like a baby more than once.
