Sherlock - Series 2

^ A US version in New York, well how bad is that going to be I think we all know. The American system of 22 episodes means the quality for a mystery is going to suffer.

Just finished watching season 2 - and I think especially episodes 1 and 3 of that season were some of the best hours in TV I've seen in a long time. Episode 2 didn't do much for me, but the rest was beyond awesome.

Can't wait for season 3... sometime in 2013...

^ More like early 2014 would be my guess. I've been wondering if Moffat and Gatiss won't adapt "The Empty House" or we will find elements from that story to kick off series three.

Just found this- a possible opening for Series Three!

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

oh, I can just see that happen.
:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Not only can I see that happening, I really want it to happen!

I agree considering Freeman will be busy with The Hobbit and Benedict Cumberbatch will be busy with The Hobbit (granted not as much) AND Star Trek 2.

^ I partly agree. Sherlock had obviously had time to prepare this whole thing and had predicted it somewhat as evidenced by his earlier conversation with Molly.

But he has John stand in a spot that specifically prevented him from seeing the impact spot. I don't think Sherlock really fell. I think everybody at the scene was an actor, hired to quickly arrange the scene, add the fake blood and to keep John from getting close enough to inspect the body for long enough to verify that it wasn't really Sherlock. Also they are careful not to show a direct line of sight from Holmes position (as he jumps) to Watson on the street, only, apparently, the other way round.

Yeap, i think this will be how he did it, jumped into the truck that Mycroft arranged to catch him saftly, threw on some blood that Molly gave him, jumped from the truck onto the pavement were Holmes homeless network were ready to surround him and take him away.

Cant wait for season 3.

There is going to be DW in 2012, although it will be later than usual. Here's the current advertised schedule.

2012
Easter Special
Autumn – Series 7 Part 1
Christmas Special
2013
Spring – Series 7 Part 2
Autumn – Series 8
Christmas Special

I thought series 2 was absolutely brilliant, I loved every single episode.

In other news, CBS greenlights modern day Sherlock Holmes, set in New York. Riiiiiiiiiiight.
No surprises that they would remake this in America.

But 'House' is basically America's Holmes.

I think we would see new Sherlock in 2013 since they said the new series would be for next year. I think they can make room for it in their schedules like Freeman did with the Hobbit.

After Empty House, they pretty much have nothing left except Red-Headed League. They have done all the biggest ACD stories already.

I'm fairly broad-minded about remakes and reinterpretations. But with Sherlock and the RDJ movies still ongoing, this just strikes me as utterly pointless. Apart from anything else, there are numerous great American sleuths who they could have opted to revive.

This is the first time I've heard about an Easter special. What's your source on this?

They'd have to be filming now, or soon at least, to get the Easter special done.

^ @ Relayer1 I was thinking more along the lines of Marlowe, Spencer, Sam Spade, Mike Hammer, Rockford, Nero Wolfe, Harry Bosch...
