2011 NFL Season - A New Game

I think the Broncos forgot they were facing Tom Freaking Brady in a postseason game. Their defense sure hasn't showed up yet and their offense isn't much better.

EDIT: Anyone else looking forward to Bill Bellichick going full douche and running up the score some more? I am.

Man. They are killing the Broncos. Tebow was just sacked by a bunch of Pats.

Gronkowski is unstoppable. Today's been a big day for tight ends, which makes this Bears fan die a little inside considering their TEs suck balls and they got rid of a decent one to appease that idiot Mike Martz.

Well... Now Tebow will able to attend church next Sunday and pray for a 2013 Super bowl appearance.

I have a hard time being upset about Denver's season being over tonight. They overacheived a ridiculous amount this season to make it this far. But shit..... couldn't we have ended the season with a little bit of dignity?

I have to give the Pats D credit- they were flat out balling. The guys up front were absolutely destroying our O-line. This wasn't even Denver's usual stunt of looking inept on offense, they were just flatout getting beaten. I don't know if there's anything Denver could have done to succeed with the Pats D playing like they did.

Lots of stuff to be optimistic about for next season. I think it'll help be great for that team to get a full offseason together and they'll come back a better team next year. It'll especially help Tebow and our real young WRs. Of course, any improvement Denver makes could get canceled out by the ugly, ugly schedule we have next year too.

Also, I loved how everytime a Bronco got hurt tonight, especially in the first half, the fans in the Patriots stadium started booing. Stay classy, New England. Shit.

Too soon?

Watching the postgame stuff on NFL Network and they have McNabb as a guest analyst.... holy shit, that man is bitter. He absolutely HATES the fact that Tebow still has a job and he's stuck doing television stuff because no one would call him.

McNabb bitter? Say it ain't so!

What did he say?
Tebow obviously had a horrible game tonight, but McNabb's complaints were very personal, and he was just repeatedly making the point that he is better, but he doesn't have a team. He really seemed like he was pushing the idea of, "If I'm not in the league right now, then this guy shouldn't be there either!" Even after they moved on from Tebow and the Broncos, he was still slipping in what sounded a lot like random complaints of, "Yep, I'm still out of a job."

He's obviously not happy about his glorious exit this season, and he's going to make sure all the watchers know it.

Every time I see McNabb, I think how ironic it is that Rush Limbaugh was right and got fired anyway.

No, he was still flat out wrong. He basically said that the media tried to crown him a great QB simply because he was black. They never tried to crown him anything and he was still a very good quarterback. His comments about McNabb never being good are flat out wrong.

McNabb had problems warming up in games and winning in clutch situations. But he could make plays and his numbers back this up. Regardless of what Rush believed the media wanted, he did do well in his career, he just never did enough to be a Tom Brady who wins Super Bowls. Simple as that.

Huge congratulations to the 49ers, what a fantastic effort against a great opponent. Super exciting game. I haven't been this impressed by a team in a long time, that's what I get for never having watched them during the regular season. ;)

Didn't want to stay up for the second game, but apparently it was a blow-out anyway.

I agree. Especially when you consider that they completely changed their offense 5 games into the season to accomodate Tebow's abilities (or lack of abilities). They could have forced Tebow to work within their existing offensive scheme, it's not like Fox and Elway drafted him. What's bad is that they'll have a tougher schedule next season as a result of their success this year. They have a lot of work to do in the off season.

This last game was embarassing though, congrats to the Pats for playing like champions.

I'll give you a different take on that one. They weren't boing the 'hurt' player, or showing a lack of class. They were booing because the Pats were in a hurry-up offense for most of that, and it seemed that after every decent to big play, a Bronco suddenly went down and they had to stop the clock, slow things down, allow subs, etc. Granted, some of the injuries were legit, but in a great many of those cases, the injured player was right back on the field one play later, no worse for wear. Seems if you can't get up, need the trainers to check you out and help you off the field, you should miss more than 12 seconds of game time, no?

Pats get a lot of phantom injuries against them when in the hurry-up offense, only way to stop the clock and let the defense catch their breath and try and come up with a play to stop them.

THAT is what the Pats were booing. A few turned out to be actual injuries, which doesn't make the fans look great, but that situation has come up SO many times for the Pats this year, and even in this case, most of the players came right back in, so how hurt were they?
