Would you swap your present life for life on the Enterprise?

All my life, I've thought I'd like to be on the Enterprise - it was my fantasy universe discovered at age six on WKBD in Detroit.

If a fairie offered you the chance to trade your present life to go serve on the Enterprise, would you make that swap? Why/not?

I promise not to tell your loved ones your decision, if you opt to go.

I've been saying for years that I would love to see space. (One smart-aleck coworker replied, "Go to space? We've been wondering when you're coming back? ;)" :sigh:)

I'm ready for something new and exciting in my life. And I want to be productive again. So, yes, as long as the fairie would be willing to include some 24th century physical rehab first, I'd go in a heartbeat.

Hmm, I wonder how Spot would feel about a couple more kitties on the Enterprise?

Live in the Star Trek universe? Everyone is so dull and lifeless in those shows. Do you see what people do in their off-hours? They sit and stare at a freaking wall. I think there's something in those replicators meant to control people and make them docile.

I was thinking 1701, but left it open for your choice. Ent-D is good, too, but not my first, childhood love.

I am pretty happy most days, and I have a family, so I don't know if I would make the swap, now. But it would be cool.

Depends on which Enterprise.

True. Enterprise D, for me. Well, anything Picard was commanding.

Same here, but I'd have to remove Picard and assume command myself.

Short answer: Yes, without hesitation or remorse. With the technology on the Enterprise-D, I could cure myself of cerebral palsy and live a pain free life. I'd also cure my girlfriend's autism.

Plus, I'm sick and tired of living in the New Battlestar Galactica universe.

Sure I would... I really don't have anything to miss or vise versa.

I'd go 1701. Though I might go D because I'd like to have a conversation with a Klingon during peace time. :techman:

Actually, what I would like is to go through the Academy and work my way to earn my own command. Forge your own destiny, and look upon guys like Kirk, Picard, etc. as collegues, not commanders. :)

I'm currently unemployed and I have Epilepsy. I would love to serve on the Enterprise A, B D or E (definitely not the C :) )

The military isn't for me. It would take all of a week before I told a CO to get bent, I'd never even make it through the academy. But a civilian ship in the Trek universe? Sure.

Maybe if you asked this question years ago, I would have said, yes... But now that I'm wiser and a lot older...I'd probably said, no, thanks! I'd be avoiding this reality to face another set of problems. I'm sick of running like the way I used to when I was young... :bolian:

I would go this very instant. And I'd probably prefer the D myself :bolian:. It looks like the perfect place to do the best you can with your life. Provided, of course, your name doesn't get on the casualty list before that happens.

I supposed it would be great...if I could wished for another life...but the reality is: the life we got is the life we got. You know how many times I wished for that and it never came true? Sorry!

Well, yeah, of course we can't realistically get another life than the one we already have. But, hypothetically speaking, and in my head, I'm already a Starfleet officer.:rommie: Besides, you never know, there might be something to those reincarnation theories. I'm not willing to give up just yet.:p

No, I would not swap my wonderful family and work life right now for the extremely busy and work around the clock stuffy life aboard a starship out in space.

Space is...boring.

And: EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
