Doctor Who S7 Wishlist

If Series Seven is the final season of the Eleventh Doctor and the Ponds, what do you wish to see happen in the next series to give these characters a grand farewell?

Weeping Angels I want back to play a big part. Daleks of course since we haven't really seen the 11th go up against them in a big way. Finding out some mysteries like why the Tardis blew up. Seeing Rory the Roman again. Cybermen as a bigger threat. A little bit of River. Ganger Doctor.

Same thing I've wanted from new Who all along:

Use the frelling premise.

The character can go literally anywhere in time and space, yet the majority of new Who has taken place on Earth. It worked (brilliantly) for Pertwee's Who; it's boring for the entirety of new Who. Whatever flaws classic Who's detractors may trot out and use to dismiss it, it at least used the damned premise. The new show hasn't come close to doing so.

Oh, and no more Daleks. They were overdone in classic Who, and have been done to death in the new version. (Likewise no more Cybermen, the Master etc etc.) Let's have something new instead of all the retreads of the classic series.

I agree with all of this and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. ;)

Although, that being said, I would like to see Captain Jack showing up at some point. Hell, I still want to know about his missing two years and I loved the hypothesis that some of us developed awhile that suggested that The Eleventh Doctor had something to do with it.

Those are definitely two things I'd like to see. I'd especially like to see an episode where the Angel's 'potential time' eating ability is featured heavily.

Series 7 to be the 11th Doctor's last? I was under the impression he would be staying around until at least the fiftieth anniversary special in 2013?

As to Omega, or any other Time Lord, being behind the whole Silence thing, while I think it would be interesting, I seriously doubt we'll get that.

Well, Series 7 will be the 11th Doctor's last series while the 50th anniversary special will be his last special like the 10th Doctor's last series was Series 4 and his last specials were the ones that acted out as his swan song.

We don't actually know for sure this is the case - just that it's definitely the last for the Ponds.

Personally I'd like to see Eleventy have a season with a different companion afterwards...

Agreed. Personally, I think this past season probably should have been the Ponds' last (I'm worried they might wear out their welcome if they stay for much longer), but clearly Moffat disagrees. :p

There was absolutely no reason for them to show up in the Christmas adventure or in Corden's episode.

Especially if he spent 200 years knocking around before River killed him, that the Doctor went 200 years without Amy, but then suddenly he can't get enough of her.

Shit or get off the pot.

Isn't Ganger Doctor dead? I thought he blew up.
Not exactly blew up but let go of himself. He also mentioned something about the possibility that he could come back.

Another Vote for Captain Jack here, I would like to see Moffat explore Jacks missing 2 years of memory. Considering season 6 was River heavy surely we can have some Jack in Season 7.

oh, yeah, and I meant to say- Get rid of that bloke who does Sherlock as showrunner, and replace him with that great pro who wrote The Doctor Dances, Blink, etc, who quit after season 5...

I'd like to see more of the eleventh Doctor without River, Amy and Rory. Each time the Doctor works with a "guest companion," I like him much more than I do with his lame-o regular companions.

And dump the Daleks. I love them, but only in small doses.

A new Companion or 2. The ponds are done, how many times can you go to the well with Amy and Rory. Both RTD and Moffet can never seem to let go of companions.
