Who do you think will be the villain in the film?

matsuiny2004

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
There are many possibilities. What do you think?

It is my personal opinion that the talosians will make good villains, they can put the heroes through many challenges and pit people against each other as well as have a good villainous scheme. Their ability to cause hallucinations allows them to put the heroes through these challenges. They could even make kirk attempt to kill spock by ticking him into thinking he is an enemy of some kind. All though there could be better options besides these guys.

The Talosians weren't really villains, they were simply trying to save their civilization.

But they do give tests. They could be attempting to see how far they could push kirk and how loyal he would remain to his crew. WHo says a villain has to be pure evil? There could be a rogue talosian that the heroes need to stop and they are testing kirk to see if he and his crew could survive the rogue talosian. Another approach to this could be the evil rogue talosian trying to make kirk kill his crew due to seeing them as a threat. Kirk overcomes the illusions somehow and the heroes dramatically defeat the villain.

Anyone remember that old DC Comic where Klingons invaded Talos IV? I think it was in Best of Star Trek collected graphic novel. Set I think near the end of the 5 year mission, with Pike and Vina somehow able to warn Spock and the Enterprise about what's happening. Seem to remember Will Decker in that one for some reason. I might be making that bit up though.

So what if some enemy of Starfleet and the Federation, had their eyes on the Talosians power of illusion, with the intent of using it as a weapon? Or a massive distraction during a war. Deploy all your forces into one sector against a threatening force who don't even exist. Leaving your territory almost completely unprotected.

Either that or some kind of morality tale, with Talosans as slaves or exploited by humanity in a way that's obviously going to be applied like a piece of technology and prove dangerously addictive.

"Final Mission" was DC Comics Annual #2 (first run) and told the last adventure of the five year mission.

The main baddie in STXII will be a Klingon (possibly Kor or Kang) but Khan, found and thawed by Klingons not long after the timeline splt, will be gradually revealed as the manipulating mastermind behind everything (and the mentor of Kirk's Klingon rival), puppeting the Empire from the shadows.

Then, epic Kirk vs. Khan showdown in Star Trek XIII, coinciding with Trek's 50th anniversary.

Orci stated in the writer's comments on the 2009 movie that they wanted, had to revisit Rura Penthe, in the next movie. Since this is a Klingon prison/slave colony, it's reasonable to assume Klingon's will be involved. I doubt that Khan will make anything more than a limited appearance.

KHAN NOONIEN SINGH!

For myself personally, this is all based upon only actors of Latin descent being considered for the primary villain role in Star Trek XII.

Didn't either the writers or one of the co-producers say in an interview recently that Khan was definitely OUT as the "villain"?
