2011 NFL Season - A New Game

I'm totally on the Tebow Train, but unfortunately the Broncos are going up against my Patriots next week. I'll be back on the train after that, though.

Well there's not a team I hate more than the Broncos (Sorry Archerguy, it's nothing personal, just a team rivalry thing) but it's hard not to root for Tebow. Kid's a gamer, that's for sure.

Yeah, likely the train will derail next week, but you never know. Washington gave NE a pretty good run for it's money today.

Marion Barber's going to get shot if he shows his face anywhere in Chicago.

WTF dude. If you're gonna bet against your team, at least make it a LITTLE less obvious you're going to throw the game all by yourself.

Well, Bears are pretty much out of the playoffs. With Jay Cutler they go 4-0 against the AFC west, but they're just total shit on offense right now.

I'm on the Tebow bandwagon. He might be the only one who can top Green Bay.

Two thoughts on the Broncos:

1. Tim Tebow is the anti LeBron James - he only shows up for one quarter and wins.

2. Don't overlook what Denver's defense is doing. They're keeping it close enough so that the offense can have a shot. Since Tebow's been named the starter, they've given up an average 21 points. Take out the Detroit ass-whipping, they're at 17.5 ppg.

I feel bad for Bailey. I watched him win too many games for Oklahoma State not to like him. He's an outstanding kicker. He's obviously got range. The second kick was blocked. He's going to be hearing time out whistles in his nightmares.

While I'm sure there are valid reasons to think otherwise, I don't consider blocked kicks to be entirely the kicker's fault. So I won't blame him this week (getting iced would be his fault, regardless of how stupid his coach is).

Had the same quote on my twitter feed, haha!

Also had "Tebow is like the politically correct version of the Honey Badger. He takes what he wants, but only if that's cool with God."

Which means we both get to stay up late since they are planning to flex the game to SNF.

I was driving back to MA from my Mom's place in NY and listened to the first 3 quarters on the radio. I was contemplating driving off a bridge or into a retaining wall somewhere on I-84 in central CT.

That defense couldn't have stopped Our Lady of Perpetual Misery High School for the Blind's team. They made Grossman look like the second coming of the illegitimate lovechild of Dan Marino and John Elway. They had 3 stupid or questionable penalties that kept drive going and led to 17 points.

Kudos to Gronk for the TE TD record and White Wes for another 100 catch year.

I saw the start and end of the Broncos game, I ran some errands through the middle of it. When they scored with 3 minutes left, I thought, oh no here we go again. You KNEW there was going to be a fumble or pick or penalty that would go the Broncos way.

To me the way the Pats win next week is to do that no huddle thing they do that works so well, and open up a big lead Denver can't match. They're not built to come back from 21 down. Won't be easy against that D though.

I was reading last week on tv by the numbers that the patriots game isn't going to be flexed and it's still going to be Baltimore/San Diego. Patriots game is still in the late afternoon.

The Chiefs canned Haley this morning.
I really doubt it's Haley's fault that team sucks. Might have a lot to do with what he inherited. Including Matt Cassell, who merely LOOKED like a good quarterback when he was playing for the Patriots.

The Patriots are good at making average quarterbacks look good.

I agree it's not TOTALLY his fault, and Matt Cassel should be the next shown the door, BUT watching him week in and week out, it was pretty clear there was a lot of dsyfunction within the coaching staff. He's been through THREEE offensive coordinators in three years, his game day decisions and clock management are absolutely abysmal. His teams just don't lose, they get blown out week after week. He even admitted the team was not prepared yesterday and said that was on him.

He may some day end up being a good coach, but he was in over his head on this first try as a HC. I won't miss him, but I fear who we will get as a replacement, the name being thrown around is Josh McDaniels. Shoot me now.

Congrats to the Texans. I watched that game, and I wouldn't say it was good, but it was very entertaining.

Nice drive by Yates to finish it off.

Actually it was pretty boring at times.

Even being a die hard Texans fan, I didn't expect them to win both games against Atlanta and Cincinanti. This is a good Texans team, but being QB'd by a fresh rookie just now getting in playing time before the playoffs. I'm glad to see the Texans finally win the AFC South, but I'm not holding my breath on how long they last in the playoffs.
