My beef with the new costume is that an invunerable man shouldn't need body armor. If anything, I'd like to see a costume that is sleeker than the old one. Think along the lines of the "Reign of the Supermen" Eradicator costume, without the sunglasses or turtleneck and a less poofy cape.

Well judging from the new Supergirl comic, their costumes are more of an official Kryptonian uniform now, so the need for body armor makes a bit more sense if they were wearing them on their home planet.

Plus it's still so thin that it reads to me more like just extra costume detail than actual "armor".

That's kind of like a Canadian moving to L.A. and still wearing a parka. ;)

Superman's complete indestructability has never been one of his major charms, to anyone but perhaps seven year-olds (the original target audience, of course).

We've been seeing a lot of Superman at a time in his life when armor would make some sense - he's not really invulnerable in the current Justice League comic, or in Action. He could use a little help.

Yeah, there's nothing about rearranging a few specifics on Supes' costume that would satisfy the terms of a lawsuit over ownership. The red cape itself would arguably be the first thing to go - it's been with him since the beginning, and it was always distinctive.

Actually according to Morrison, it's like been Scottish American and still wearing a kilt.

That's my biggest problem with it, it looks like armor. Which makes sense given the in-universe explanation for the suit's existence but from a visual aspect it looks silly considering he's invulnerable and doesn't need armor.

Well considering the massive beatings Batman has been able to take over the years, he probably doesn't need armor either. lol

And I don't get how it looks silly at all. It's not like he's wearing some extra bulky gladiator suit or something. Considering the fact we can still make out every little muscle, the new suit is probably no thicker than the old one was.

Well, Batman still needs armor for things like bullets. ;)

Plus I'm pretty sure bullets still bounce off him in Action.

IIRC, it's more like when Clark started getting hit by bullets in Smallville where they annoy him a little bit and leave a touch of a bruise. I'll have to check the issue tonight and see how it's portrayed. But I think, again like Smallville, in the comic right now Clark's powers are just now starting to assert themselves. With the three monsters Superman has fought over the issues in his self-tittled book it's clear his powers are fully asserted and the armor is probably just extra padding and just more annoying than anything else at this point. ;)

I read a November release schedule somewhere, it said none of the 52 are coming out this week.

I think there were some "event" books maybe some others but, no, there were no New52's this week since they seem to be on a 4-Week schedule and there were 5 Wednesdays this month.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 did come out today.

    DC Release Schedule

Mostly looks like some graphic novels, trades, stuff like that.

Thanks for the replies guys. I now know I didn't miss anything on the DC side I wanted.

I did get TMNT#4 today. Going to read it here real soon, it's on the nightstand top of the pile!

As others have said no fifth week event and no new 52's...Bleeding Cool ran a story about today's lack of books last week. I picked up Legion of Superheroes Secret Origin #2 today, my only DC book.

Marvel shipped light this week. Only 11 titles.

I bought my first Archie comic in decades today with the first issue of "Archie Meets KISS".
