2012 is the big year for the countdown of the Myan calendar. Does anyone have a comprehensive list [aside form Zombie flicks e.g. The Walking Dead] that are due out in 2012?

Of any year, 2012 has to be the year for every apocalypse story arc out there.

After 1999-2000, anyway.

Meh, Y2K is nothing compared to the Myan calendar ending date. Shit, even the History Channel cannot resist running at least 6 docu-drama's a week attempting to coorelate Nostradamus with the Myans with the end of days scenarios in the bible.

^ Mayan.

December 22, 2012 was when the aliens were supposed to colonize the Earth on the X-Files, based on the Mayan calendar. I would have liked to see a new X-Files movie about the alien colonization come out then, but unfortunately the last one probably killed that idea if it was ever a possibility.

I wouldn't have thought it likely esp after the dire last one, but according to Gillian Anderson there's "talk" of a third movie

Still, I doubt it. If you're gonna do a movie about the December 2012 date, it might help to release it before said date. And if nothing is set in stone at all by now, then its pretty much too late

Both David and Gillian have stated this year at various points that there has been talk of a third movie. I don't think it will happen. Not after the lack luster response of the second movie and yeah the invasion was a day after the Mayan Calender is supposed to end on Friday December 21, 2012. The invasion as LOB stated above happened on the Sat the 22nd.

Theres '2012' i suppose. Although i wouldnt recommend anyone to bother watching it.

Also *deep breath*:

:scream::scream::scream:

Feth how i hate this nonsense about the Mayan calender ending in 2012. IT DOESN'T.

The Mayan calender was cyclical, it doesn't have an ending. 2012 is just the end of one cycle and the beginning of another.

The End of the World nonsense or bad things happening comes from a mistake when pictographs relating to Mayan history were first put in sequence.

The pictograph representing a period of tremendous upheaval was placed at the end of the series, which prompted this end of the world nonsense.

But it was misplaced, it belonged at the start of the sequence and actually depicts the upheaval that led to the Mayan civilisation being founded, not its ending.

The Mayan calender forecasting the end of the world is as valid an archaeological theory as Crystal Skulls being mystical artefacts from the lost city of Atlantis.

/Rant.

Not "End of the World", end of an Age, meaning great change of some kind is predicted. This could be a catastrophe that kills everyone off, or it could be any other great change, including Aliens visiting us and sharing technology with us that is Centuries ahead of our own, or even some radioactive something that causes us to evolve into beings with twice as much brain power, or a scientific discovery like Warp Drive, etc, etc. Sure, these are extreme examples, and highly unlikely.

Bottom line though, the End of an Age, does not necessarily mean the end the end of the world, it only means a great change is predicted that will drive us in a different direction.
