Neelix' Lung from Kes

Early on in Voyager ("The Phage"), Neelix lost his lungs to the Vidians, but was saved by a donation from Kes. However, since Kes' species is so short-lived...wouldn't Neelix's Ocampan lung age to the point of uselessness within a few years? Has this issue ever come up in the episodes or books?

I read many varied replies but the important thing is Neelix was suppose to be dead. It was a million to one shot but Janeway was smart enough and bartered technology from the Bidiians to save his life. Not many Captains would have the daring do and technical prowess to get at the Bidiians. She does the same thing in 'Riddles' when she convinces the Ba 'Neth to give the cure for Tuvok. This ep. also gives to us a view of the crews reckless way of life and their reckless venture into the Delta Quadrant- now dead then alive. It has never been different for this genre.
