Does anyone know if there is a specific reason why the Doctor Who and Torchwood novels are available for the Kindle, but not for the Nook?
Perhaps because the Nook isn't officially sold in the UK as Barnes & Noble have no presence here. Nook ereader impresses the US but might never come to Britain
There are. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/doctor-who?keyword=doctor+who&store=ebook Not a lot, but they are there. Also, you can read Amazon books on the Nook, as long as you load them through the USB cable.
Those are the comics from IDW, not the novels. Not without converting them first in another program, and (in the US at least) you can only legally do that if they don't have DRM.
Really? Because I would swear the "Doctor Who and the Empire of Glass" title shown on the first page of that list was a novel. And I happen to have it on my Nook at this very moment. As with the Kindle apps that let you read BN books on the Kindle, there are apps that let you read Amazon books on the Nook without converting anything.
Oh. Okay, you're right, so there's one. That's not from the original publisher and certainly looks fishy. If you jailbreak the device (and even then, my understanding is that it's not particularly useable on the eink nooks, just the Nook Color/Tablet). That doesn't count.
