Books by "Character"

Last time I posted a new thread I was asking which books had prominent stories about William T Riker, my favourite of the TNG characters, however now that I have ploughed my way through all of those books already I am wanting to do the same thing in relation to "Data". I am currently reading "Immortal Coil", which is one of the most emotional Star Trek novels I have read except for perhaps Imzadi.. but it's an awesome book (so far)..

Anyway, so this begs the question: What are other good "Data" books I could read?.. then I thought to myself, what about when I go through all those books.. I will be asking this question again about yet another character. I've scoured the internet as best I can but I can't seem to find a comprehensive listing of Star Trek novels sorted "by Character". Obviously all the TNG books, to some degree, are going to have Data in them.. but I mean the ones that have Data (or whicher character) as a prominent character in the book.

If there is no such list, can people make some suggestions about books? There was a book, apparently, where Data becomes a human but then at the end of the book everything is changed back and his memory erased.. I read the review someone did of it but I can't remember the title..

Metamorphis by Jean Lorrah is about Data . The latest Myriad Universe story collection has a story about Data and lal and also the Startrek Tng story anthology has some Data stories in it. There's also the TNG A time to novels that Data loses his emotion chip and the consequences of how it affects him.also there's a Star trek Miniseries book one that has Data and Tasha yar working together. There's a story collection about the Dominion war I think there's a story about Data in that book as well.

I just added Metamorphosis to my Amazon wishlist on your suggestion but also found "Survivors" as well, adding it to my wishlist.. that's one of the Yar+Data ones.. so it's a start.. Just that, while reading Immortal Coil I have been really, really, drawn in to the whole story.. :)

Metamorphsis is a sequel to the Tasha/Data story Survivors.

It's only a sequel in the sense that there are a handful of characters created for Survivors who appear in Metamorphosis. The plots are not connected and they can be read independently.

That said, Survivors is an excellent read all the same. It's one of the first Trek novels I ever got, and I love it dearly. Definitely recommended.

Spartacus might be of interest to you. The Enterprise-D finds a planet which uses androids as labor, but following an insurrection some request refuge aboard the ship and Data goes to bat for them.

I've got through about 60% of Metamorphosis and really have been enjoying it. There's a lot of content in that one.. not just in terms of pages but actual story. Very good.

I'll have a look at Spartacus, sounds like it would be more along the lines of what I am looking for but will still read Survivors at some point too.

Since you like books about Data here's another one where Data and Tasha Yar work together. Double Hekix Infection by John Gregory Betancourt. This is part of a Startrek book miniseries .

One that wasn't mentioned above that I found by accident is "Foreign Foes".. just finished that one and reading Spartacus now. Foreign Foes has a good balance of most of the main characters centering around Picard, Worf, Riker/Deanna, Geordi and Data.

I also grabbed "Into the Nebula" but I'm not sure how much of a role Data will play in that book yet.
