Well, apparently, the next episode will be centered around Rarity so I hope that will apppease all the fans disappointed by her non-appearance this week.

A Rarity episode! YAY!

As for the episode, pretty much what I said over on BronyKingdom, I was expecting something different from Luna, but I liked what we got.

The scope of the episode felt a little limited for one featuring Luna and Zecora, though. There were a lot of nice little touches around, but maybe it's that most of the mane cast only had bit parts in the episode. Would love to see a lot more of Luna, though.

That's the solution of which I approve! Longer episodes!
Also, we need a movie or six. :D

Something like this COULD have been a double-length episode, easily. I wish Hasbro would give the audience credit and more than one two-parter per year.

I loved Luna's return, and while the epiosde wasn't super-outstanding, it was very fun to wath and rewatch. I love that the production staff went through all the effort to give every background pony a detailed costume (and in Derpy's case, one that fits her fandom-inspired personality) even though they have little screen time and no real dialogue. THAT's a real meaausre of the love that goes into a show like this.

And while I missed Rarity, her actor voices Luna and there were times that her voice rang a little close to milady's, if you knew what to look for ("VERY WELL THEN - be that way!"). Still a great performance - though I wonder where Luna picked up the accent and speech mannerisms. She spoke normally in her couple lines last year, and Nightmare Moon spoke quite colloquially as well.

Finally, Celestia obviously sent Luna to Ponyville. To straighten her out a bit. Twilight's being USED, I tells ya!

It looks like Celestia used to be like Luna, after many years of shouting or ordering she found it got her nowhere and just trusted in her citizens and let them get on with it, she trusts Twilight Sparkle with her own emotionally damaged little sister, thats not something I would see her doing idley.

We have instances where Luna has her normal, softer voice and it's obvious she's still the sweet and kind Luna we got a glimpse of in the series pilot, she's just confused and behind the times, which is perfectly understandable given her situation. If I were gone from society for a thousand years, when I returned I would need more than a year to sort it all out. Plus, while she was exposed to Celestia's influence, that doesn't mean she had much to do with the hoi polloi during that time. If anything, she reminds me of Twilight Sparkle when we first met her; that being totally unprepared to interact socially with others.

She did know about Nightmare Night (lending to the idea she studied the history of it), so she's aware that things have changed. I just think she didn't realize how much things had changed. Like Twilight, she's probably a bookworm, or at the very least rather studious, and so she absorbed as much as she could learn in her year of adjustment, but that doesn't make one ready for society, which is a totally different animal and can blindside you no matter how much you've tried to adjust.

I think we'll see more normal Luna in the future (I hope to see lots of Luna in the coming episodes ahead). I can't wait either way. I <3 Luna. :D

Anypony else watching this again tonight? :D I am now...watched Garfield's Halloween before it.

Reasonable enough, but I do hope we get to see more of her, can't wait for more Luna.

Agreed! More Luna! :D

Where did you get to see Garfield's Halloween? I missed it, though I did watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
In Pony related news, I have now watched "Luna Eclipsed" 11 times. :D

Yes. This Saturday there is a new episode called "Sisterhooves Social".
