Awesome episode, I don't really care for Rarity so her absense was fine with me, Dash scaring the locals with her thunder bolts was great. Chicken Pie, the slaptsick with Fluttershy, Derpy!, cute little Pip the only colt filly we've seen for ages and Sparkle the Wizard were all hilarious, loved every moment. I tended to think Luna was kind of bitchy and my fanfic would have had her behave this way, so it was nice to see it confirmed but ultimately I knew she'd grow and mature, we've seen the start of that and I really hope they bring her back for more episodes soon.

Well, as we all know, Luna's still adjusting to her role as Princess, and reacquainting herself with pony life and interaction with her subjects. You'll note several times, when she felt hurt, she would get angry, but then you'd see her revert back to her "Wuna" state for a moment. She has a good heart, she's just not used to how much things have changed.

When she behaved as a royal, she almost seemed "by the book" about it and when her experiences didn't match up with her perceptions of how that worked, she became very confused and hurt. Fortunately, Twilight Sparkle did what she did best (lecture her ), and things started back on track toward the end.

I hope to see many more Luna episodes. If not Luna centered, then at the very least, Luna giving missions and visiting Ponyville.

The absence of Rarity, at least from what I heard, is because the voice actress that does Rarity's voice also did Zecora's and Luna's voices, and thus already had a lot of work cut out for her in the ep, so they decided not to use Rarity (although there was a scene, similar to Fluttershy’s, in plan, but it ultimately didn't add anything new to the episode, and the episode was already running out of room for the additional scene).

Oh, and Pinkie Ckicken... pure gold. :D

You have to love Chicken Pie. I swear, when Pinkie does something, she goes all out.

One of my favorite scenes was when Luna turned the spiders real. :guffaw:

BTW, a PSA....

For those using the term "colt filly" for Pipsqueak, that is a contradiction.

A colt is a young male horse.

A filly is a young female horse.

I hated that part. I just kept going "Why, Luna?! Why!?"

Just my 2¢ on The Hub's repetitive broadcast habits...

They aired today's episode four times within three hours: 10 am, 10:30 am, 12 noon, and 12:30 pm. "Luna Eclipsed" will air again twice on Sunday. I know there's only 30 episodes (to date) and you can only show them so many times, but come on guys... mix it up a bit.

Awesome episode. I sincerely hope that this isn't the last time that we see Luna.

Solid A.

So how many of you have now watched this episode more than once? Twice? 10 times? 20?

Yes the ring leader of the frightened children! Pinkie is great. :D

I actually watched both parts of "The Elements Of Harmony" and am watching "Bridle Gossip" now...will watch "Luna Eclipsed" again for a sixth time in a bit. :)

Well, apparently, the next episode will be centered around Rarity so I hope that will apppease all the fans disappointed by her non-appearance this week.
Do we know how many episodes there will be this season, by the way?

Funny episode! :) I came into this show a few weeks ago after hearing Lauren Faust (one of my favorite Foster's and PPG writers) was involved and, yup, I'm now a brony. :P This season has been really great so far and "Luna Eclipsed" is no exception. I enjoyed the backstory of the holiday, but there were lots of great moments of humor spread throughout: the hilarity of "Chicken Pie," Fluttershy's great reactions to Luna, the speaking patterns, etc. Hopefully, Luna will return--great character.

Quotable line of the episode: "I'm going to do what I do best--LECTURE HER!"

Season 2 will have 26 episodes the same as season 1, season 3 has all but been confirmed by three of the main members of the production staff including Lauren herself but they won't announce it until at least halfway through season 2, all in all, 78 episodes are lined up by The Hub. And yes I've been rewatching it too, can't get enough of it :D
