I did. I wasn't really fond of the proportions - it's pretty flat.

John Eaves isn't good at Federation designs.
His aliens ships are excellent because he's not limited to a certain style.
Yeah, a nice design for the 24th century - but as the original NX-01? I can't see it.
He certainly does have a style! Circles/egg shapes with oval/trapezoid bits cut out the side.
I think MadMan was going to do this, but I had a link to where someone had already done so and I think he abandoned the attempt, sadly--or maybe my memory is off.

They have a little bit of the fluting design. Often artists are inspired by real aircraft, as here

That NX-01 mesh seems to have a little of that aerodyne secondary hull look going for it.
You see what could be an early NX-01 design here, but it is described as a placeholder:

Now, those of you lucky enough to have bought the Bandai NX-01 model kit, will remember the little booklet of alternate NX-01 designs.
I'm hoping either Drex or Mr. Eaves will show those pieces of artwork, or perhaps someone here might do some scans seeing that Bandai is out of the Trek business--though I hope that changes.

After seeing it rendered. I'm liking it more overall than the final result we got. (though not too thrilled over the window tretment for the saucers' edge)
A few more passes at refinement by Eaves, and this could have been a great design.
