Who Is Your Favorite ST Background Character?

Barbara Baldavin, wow, I didn't know that was she in Turnabout Intruder too, but there she is obviously.

That brings up some other questions: Where was Nichelle? Why did she opt out of the last episode? Anyone have any information on her absence?

I'm fairly sure there was a possibility that Don Marshall could have appeared again as Boma, but he got cast in another series. Land of the Giants, maybe?

...or maybe he was busy filming that classic movie, "The Thing With Two Heads".

Thanks for the compliments on the site. :)

And thanks for mentioning Ron Veto. I didn't have him in my list, so I missed him somehow. He's a pretty significant TOS extra, so I'm glad he's covered now.

Another vote for Transporter operator Lt. Kyle.

A friend once learned that John Winston's regular job, when not acting, was as a Hollywood barber. One of his regular clients was Gene Coon and, if you check their shared credits, Kyle only appeared on Coon-scripted episodes.

I've often wondered if Mr Winston was "the barber" (mentioned in several "Making of..." books) they'd call in to give all male guests playing Starfleet officers their distinctive pointed sideburns?

I tried to contact John Winston for an interview once, after his ST II appearance, but he was no longer a member of the Screen Actors Guild, so there was no way to find him.

Not quite. According to MA Coon/Cronin's writing credits only overlap with one Kyle episode. Coon did produce most of the episodes Kyle was in, but that could easily be a coincidence considering how many episodes Coon was credited in.
