2011 NFL Season - A New Game

Scratch Brandon Weeden going to Denver. I'd like to see him take Tony Romo's place in Dallas. That would be awesome.

Not that I think Tebow's a bad guy, (refreshing to see NFL players who aren't felons or former felons) but how long before reality sets in and the diehards turn on him when they're finally forced to face the fact that he isn't Superman?

Aw, too bad for Detroit, I was rooting for them. Just didn't have the certain something in offensive power in the end I guess. Very entertaining game though.

Not the way I wanted to see an undefeated season go down the tubes. The Niners were giving the Lions all the chances in the world with those penalties, but we couldn't capitalize with all those wasted three and outs.

I've never noticed before today, but has Stafford always thrown side arm? He didn't always do it, but it seemed like a lot of his passes today were that way. Might just be me, but it seems like a dangerous way to be throwing.... hard to get any altitude on it that way.

Denver has the week off, but still finds a way to dish out some bad news on Sundays. Not only has Lloyd requested a trade, but not Royal is wanting out of town as well. That is literally all of our receiving experience. None of our other WR's have any sort of note-worthy starting time under their belts before this season. The most veteran "reciever" we will have if those guys leave is TE Fells. Talk about breaking in all of the new toys at the same time.

Not always, but he was definitely doing it during this year's preseason, along with some throwing from his back foot. I'm guessing it's an unconscious thing, possibly stemming from all his shoulder issues.

In other news, I see that Mike Shanahan finally grew tired of Sexy Rexy unleashing the dragon.

Also, for posterity's sake...

Those 3 and outs were the result of some clutch Niner defense.

Urlacher couldn't go a whole minute without calling a timeout. Good grief.

Never forget that Rod Marinelli, Lovie Smith's old friend from the Buccaneers, literally told Lovie that he (Rod) wasn't qualified to be the team's defensive coordinator, but after Lovie received the mandate from on high that someone else had to take over the defense, and Perry Fewell pantsed the Bears for a better offer from Buffalo, Marinelli was the last option they had. And the functionally retarded Bob Babich still handles the Bears' defensive backs.

SANZENMACHER!!!!

I wonder if Al Michaels knows of Sanzenbacher's opinions of Pryor, whom Michaels just mentioned....

Why does any team ever kick it anywhere in the same hemisphere as Devin Hester? The guy has killer speed but a killer mentality, too. He sees an opening and - FLASH- he's through it. Very little dancing around. He just.... goes!

ETA: They just showed a graphic , where Deion Sanders has 19 TD returns of any kind. Hester just tied Rod Woodson for 17. Michaels pointed out that Woodson and Sanders had half of their's as interceptions with Hester only returning kicks (punts, KO's, blocked kick). And the best part... Hester is only 28! Lot of time left for 3 more.

^ The one time they made a real effort to keep it away from Hester, it went 17 net yards.

Obviously there's better ways to keep it away from him.

2 straight sacks & Mama McNabb just headed for the exit.

And let the blowing up of the Broncos commence. Brandon Lloyd has been traded to St Louis for a 5th or 6th round pick in 2012.

Lloyd has 19 catches for 283 yards this season, but has yet to score a touchdown. He led the NFL with 1,448 receiving yards last season, and also had 11 scores.

He's going to be a free agent at the end of the season anyway, so I understand getting some value for him, but you couldn't do better than a 5th rounder for last year's top receiver? :wtf:

It's also been reported that Eddie Royal wants out.

Hopefully Elway can get enough draft picks to stock up on so that if they fuck around and win enough games to take them out of the 1st pick, they've got enough to put a package together to move up and be in the running for a real quarterback. Kind of like what Josh McHoodie did to get Tebow, but actually get someone who's got the potential to be a franchise quarterback.

They should bring back the brown and mustard yellow uniforms, because they're going to suck that badly this year.
