I'm pretty sure that both Natalie and Joss confirmed a long time ago that she wouldn't be in the film. Same with Gwenyth Paltrow and Liv Tyler (or a recast Betty) . No love interests.

This trailer shows just enough to feel confident and excited. We live in an age that a big budge Avengers film with Joss Whedon scripting and directing is being made. Avengers, the first superhero comic I ever read.

This is a geek golden age, friends.

And yet, Paltrow is listed as being in the cast at IMDB. I figure it's either a cameo or IMDB screwed up. That wouldn't totally without precedent, as IMDB listed Kate Mara as playing Bethany Cabe in Iron Man 2, but all she played was the nameless Marshall that subpeoned Tony early on.

IMDB is typically awesome at collecting actual known information (And especially after something premieres), but, not so reliable before something is known for fact or has already premiered. Anyone with an account can edit it, just like Wikipedia, and some folks love to post false things, just to rile fans up (though, sometimes, it's an innocent who doesn't fact check a rumor)

Ah...i see. I dunno. I have no problem with them myself. I saw Black Widow and Iron Man on another site and Tasha looks weird.

I'm fairly sure Gwyneth is in The Avengers. Plenty of sites picked up on the story back in the summer.

And Marvel is already talking Avengers 2.

I was expecting Downey to be done with Iron Man with Iron Man 3, and I really don't see him staying with the role until Avengers 2 in 2014 or 2015. (Either he tires of it, which I think is likely, or Marvel doesn't want to pay what Downey thinks he deserves, which I think is even more likely.) So, who would you cast as Tony Stark in Iron Man 4/Avengers 2 and beyond?

I don't think Downey will leave the Ironman role it helped recharged his career,he seems to have real fun playing the role plus he'll have more downtime after Ironman 3 until Avengers 2 to do other roles,and I doubt Marvel will risk p*ssing off the fan base by trying to replace him they know he's one of the reasons Avengers will be a big hit next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if, once Downey films Iron Man 3, which would complete his four-picture deal with Marvel, he just does Avengers movies after that. By the time a presumptive Avengers 3 comes out, he'll be over 50, so I can see him deciding to move on from the role after that point.

I'm kind of excited about Bendis and Bagley's "Avengers: Assemble" movie tie-mini series.

I've always wanted Clooney in the role before I even thought of RDJ, which is perfect casting but that would never happen anyways. Plus RDJ would be a tough act to follow, regardless.
