What pisses me off isn't that the show was cancelled - I could care less about it - but the fact the PTC is going to claim this as a victory for their regressive efforts to pablumize American television.

Free Agents will probably be next. Repeats of Prime Suspect are going to be aired at 10pm on Monday for the next three weeks in an attempt to build up an audience for the show via greater sampling.

even as someone who enjoyed the show i saw the handwriting on the wall. i do wonder if it could have been successful on AMC or Showtime though.

But nobody will believe them except the folks who already ascribe to their philosophy. Anyone who saw the show or even part of it already knows why it deserved a speedy demise.

Possibly, but it would have been an entirely different show, presumably with better writing and a lot less Eddie Cibrian. They would never have touched the topic if it requiring getting approval from Playboy, Inc, and thereby depriving the show of much-needed bite by turning it into corporate ass-kissing mush.
