Is the space station on the card back the actual one from the film or just similar? Since I don't see any 2001 graphics or film imagery, I imagine they don't need a license to sell a black chunk of plastic called "monolith." Now, if they were selling a red lightbulb called "HAL" ...

The packaging doesn't use any specific reference to 2001, and even the little image of a wheel-shaped space station is a generic one rather than the 2001 design.
