Most underated Star Wars character?

Jayson

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I think it's Jabba the Hut. He is a very memorable villian which is intresting because he is only in the first act of the movie. I like how he isn't some humanoid villian and is really alien.

Jason

How can there be an underrated character in a series where nearly everybody got their own action figure, fan written backstory, and probably a fan website.

I don't know. Porkins didn't get an action figure. I'll go with him! :)

I say Owen Lars. While he originally appeared as nothing more than a killjoy to Luke, he was ultimately instrumental in keeping the young Skywalker safe and under the radar of Darth Vader for many years.

General Madine is pretty nifty. The blu-ray deleted scenes have him and an all-human crew in case the Mon Calamari puppets didn't work. He's also played by a well-known British actor, Dermot Crowley (who almost was cast as the Doctor) and has an interesting Expanded Universe story as well.

Second I would say Tarkin. One of the central villains of the original Star Wars, yet he had only a cameo in the prequels (Leaving the EU and recent episodes of Clone Wars to develop him and his relationship with Vader).

Artoo
Hell, the guy can zap people, can use parts of his body to fashion an impromptu flame thrower and his feet contain a jet pack!

Doh! Should have realized he finally got one!
I should have said he never had one from the original Mattel line from when the movie was out.

What about the skinny, dorky X-wing pilot who dies?

I actually did some research, and found out his name is John D. Branon. What kind of a Star Wars name is that? He deserved to die for that name!

The most underrated character is officially Nien Numb.

Seriously??? :wtf:

I think Jawa #3 was far more essential and deserving of recognition ;)

Seriously though, this is a tough one, as has been stated, even the curtains have extended Universe stories and 10,000 word Wookiepedia pages, so, is there really anyone under rated?

Admiral Piett would be my choice. I always thought he was an interesting villain as he wasn't out and out evil but he did command an Imperial fleet.
