What's the coolest Star Wars scene of all time.

I think Phantom Menace is the worst movie by far but I think the fight with Darth Maul is the tops. Yoda fighting Dokku comes a close second as does Han Solo shooting the microphone in the prision unit of the Death star.

Back in '77, I was blown away by the opening scene above Tatooine with the star destroyer appearing to keep coming on and on while the sound system (primitive as it was) seemed to be making your seat shake.

Flight into and out of the Death Star II, with the coolest part of that being the reveal into the reactor chamber. I watched that scene like twenty times in a row when I was a kid.

It's why Jedi is better than Empire.

I always liked the Rebel fleet coming out of hyperspace to find the shield still up in RotJ. The scale and scope of the scene, the cunning of the bad guys. The epic musical cue by John Williams.

Probably my favorite minute or two of the entire series.

Some of the scenes during the space battle in ROTJ, espically when you considered each one of those ships (had to motion controlled several times each and passed by the camera) and one mistake meant having to start over from scratch.

Not sure if its the "coolest", but my all-time favourite scene is when Vader finally redeems himself and saves his son and kills the Emperor (pre "Nnnoooo!" version of course).

Luke's Death Star trench run in ANH.

All of the above!

This, especially in it's proper context of never having seen anything like it. Luke's trench run, in particular "Use the Force, Luke," is a very close second for me.

That one shot of the Falcon flying towards the camera with 8 million other ships zooming around it is the coolest effects shot in cinema history.

I really like the scene where the snowspeeders are searching for Luke and Han. They took a relatively mundane sequence and made it interesting, with the way they showed the ship skimming mountains like they were waves. When I first saw it I was like whoa, slow down! And then the big smile when the pilot finally made contact was awesome. It's like the only real victory the rebels have in ESB.

One of my favorite scenes is the Han and Vader encounter on Bespin, Han trying to blast Vader - and Vader just deflects the shots and pulls the blaster from his hand, and of course Vader's cool delivery of "We would be honored if you would join us."

In ROTJ the sail barge fight is pretty cool, even if Luke's lightsaber seems to act more like a baseball bat. It's hard for me to sit through ANH these days, but I still like the Cantina scenes, and the Battle of Yavin is still fun to watch.

Yeah, that was the only time we saw Han and Vader interacting with each other, which makes it a pretty damn cool scene.

Other than on a technical level, that scene has nothing on the duel between Luke and Vader at the end of Empire.

There are too many great scenes in that film to pick one best one.

-Yoda raising Luke's X-Wing.
-Han being turned into a carbonite sickle.
-Luke getting his hand cut off and finding out Vader is his father.

When Han shoots Greedo [first] under the table and flips a coin to the bartender.

"Sorry about the mess."
