Would you eat a unicorn?

I could see there being a unique thrill from the knowledge that you're eating the very last member of a particular species.

No, I really think that's disgusting. Like people who proudly nail the carcasses of animals they heroically shot with a rifle from 200 metres away on their wall.

I'm not talking about unicorn Ponies of course, just regular magical unicorns.

Thats what I meant, the cryptozoological Unicorns from Myth had very long and incredibly sharp horns, and were stronger than the average horse which can kill with a kick.

Horses freak me out IRL, a Unicorn? really not going near it.

Frankly, I'm not seeing what makes a thread like this more spammy than the fifty-thousandth iteration of What Made TOS So Awesomely Wonderful And Eternal? - at least we can't respond to Jayson's questions by hitting some "Trekkie" button on the keyboard.

I wasn't talking about killing animals, I was talking about eating them. The killing part is of no interest to me. :p

Well, the question was only about eating it, not hunting it. Like if you see a package of unicorn steaks in the supermarkt next to pork chops and chicken legs and take the unicorn.

Oh look! A Pony-Lovers circle jerk! Thank God for this:

"Groupclop", and no, it isn't. More like another 'eat an endangered species that tastes weird' thread.

No I understood what you were saying; I was talking about the attitude of those people. I'm sure there really are some Mr.Burns-like billionaire shits sitting in some castle somewhere who get off on eating panda steak and humpback whale sushi, and I'm literally disgusted by both the thought of doing that and the people who do it (there's got to be people like that for whom that's not a hypothetical).

I assume the act is symbolic of man's triumph over nature--the ability to drive a species nearly to extinction and then feast on its carcass. So yeah, I can see why a "Mr. Burns" type would get off on it. Not that I am ever likely to have the opportunity or enough of a douchebag to go through with it if I did.

Even so, unicorns aren't real, so I can't muster up any guilt at the notion of eating one. Omnomnom.

A tiger...and a tiger is real. Second to only the dragon, which is a mythological creature, in the Chinese believe.

I think it would be like the first time you find out dragons are real, was in a restaurant with someone slamming a dragon steak down in front of you.

Takes the wonder out of it really, just looks like any other lump of meat, Unicorns wouldn't be any different, you hear all these nice myths then someone serves up a unicorn burger, not very satisfying to the imagination and buildup.
