Planet with 2 suns discovered..

I wouldn'ta noticed it in Science and Tech, and it does have a Star Wars Tie, no reason, it shouldn't be duplicated here, IMHO.

Thanks, this is WAY COOL :bolian:

is it just me or is the timing of this a bit suspect, some new Star Wars DVDs come out, and suddenly a Star Wars planet has been discovered?

Astronomers are accepting bribes from George Lucas!

Its possible, but there was also a dinosaur discovery the same day as the BBC launched Planet Dinosaur. BBC News managed to run a story about it, featuring footage from Planet Dinosaur, which I thought was a bit suspect.

If they ever make JP 4, or do a remastering of the trilogy, I suspect a new dinosaur discovery will be made in the same week.

Probably just a coincidence. It's not like Lucas could have had ILM create this entire planet out of scratch just for the Blu-Ray release.:rommie:

This news just makes the twin suns scene in ANH more awesome. Lucas thought it up before the actual discovery!

obviously it would be impossible for ILM to create not only the planet but also the suns, that is so beyond human technology I had not for a moment considered that to be the case.

What I was considering however was the timing of the announcement, I mean there is always going to be some delay between the initial discovery and being reported to the public after all, who is to say that George Lucas didnt know before us, and asked those who discovered it to wait for the announcement, possibly saying there discovery would get more publicity, if it was part of the larger promotional event for the remaster Blu-Ray set.
