Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Just as an aside I find it interesting to see very similar looking actors in mo-cap suits in this new pic when we've seen them in The Avengers shoot so recently.

Those mo-cap guys get around.

I was going to make a thread about the use of mo-cap suits in movies nowadays. I was whether people were yay or nay about them.

That's a cool transition gif!!

When used effectively mo-cap seems to be just as good a movie making tool as any other used to craft a film. I'm pro mo-cap when used well I suppose.

I just assumed the motion suit was Doomsday or a Green Lantern in one of those completely redone suits.

I have to say that I think the redone Superman #1 looks awesome!

Found on Bleeding Cool:

With my time machine...

I'm not doing a turnaround, but that actually doesn't look bad in itself. It's a richer blue even if not bright than the Cavill costume. It's a little easier to see the belt area which could/should be more prominent on the new design. And it doesn't have the awful texturing and elaborate piping that Cavill's suit has or at least it's not as obvious.

Man of Steel is now currently shooting in Chicago, IL!

Zack Snyder's Superman movie Man of Steel has moved down the road from Plano, Illinois to Chicago, where the production will start shooting today for the next 10 days through September 17. After that, the production will head to Vancouver for the rest of the shoot.

Chicago Business reports that the Chicago Board of Trade building (previously used for Wayne Tower in Batman Begins) will be used as The Daily Planet in the movie, while Willis Tower in the city will serve as the newspaper's interiors.

I'll be super-stalking the production for the next week and a half! :D

Remember, if you use your eyesight to look at your own child, you're a monster worthy of at best a quick death.

Cool. Hopefully we'll finally get to see what Cavill's Clark looks like (at least the Metropolis version of Clark).

Wonder if Nolan has warned Snyder about you...

On a serious note, I'm surprised they're not concerned about Metropolis looking too much like Gotham.

Visual effects companies MPC and Double Negative will work on Man of Steel.

MPC and Double Negative have worked on Christopher Nolan's last three movies, plus the last five Harry Potter movies. Plus lots of other movies like X-Men: First Class, Paul and Prince of Persia.

Synder- Okay everyone. You all have a photo of the person to be on the lookout for. He is to be restrained on site by order of the Nolan.

Looks perfect. Just CGI a globe on top

Metropolis being in Chicago always seemed to fit for me, Chicago is such a classy, architectually modern and beautiful town that it seems perfect for Superman.

New York is much more Batman.
