Yeah, I was kind of expecting a threesome there. Weird.

(I don't think it's really clear, but I guess he did end up selling the box to the aunt even though he said he couldn't? I'm still not sure what happened there. Surely he wouldn't sell the only clue he's got to the person who's supposed to kill him?)

I got this impression, too, when Evi said they could live off the money for a while. It's very strange that he would actually sell it.

Nathan is at the office (I can't remember -- did Dave and Vince deliver a parting shot here?).

Yes, they talked about Audrey and Nathan said she had no time for dating. :rommie: One of them also left another note about Twitter.

Nathan's name comes up on Audrey's phone as the call rings through, but Audrey's a little busy...

It was interesting how this paralleled the ending of last week's episode, with Nathan's name on Audrey's phone just as Duke's name was on the box; I wonder if this was intentional or just a coincidence.
 
Ha I was looking for this thread!

I think it's more of a deliberate dropping of the clues to illustrate some connection that we haven't seen. First was Crocker. The second is Nathan. The up and coming episode will be about Audrey and that's all the major players.

I did check out of TWOP. The majority of the opinion over there didn't like the episode. I did like Audrey's solving of the crimes and -then- finding out the solution of the troubles from someone else. That was kind of neat.
 
Episode 2:6 - Audrey Parker's Day Off

Meh.

A fairly straightforward use of the Groundhog Day effect. Nothing big revealed.

Audrey seems to be getting stuck between 3 guys (or was that my imagination?). I hope they don't focus on the interpersonal relationships too much.

Anyway, next week it looks like we get back to the main story. In a creepy and disturbing way.
 
Yeah, no forward arc motion here-- and I missed the newspaper brothers and Evie-- but this was strong on character. Audrey's increasing trauma over the relentless deaths was heartbreaking. The interactions between Nathan and Duke were great-- the death scene was strongly written and I loved the ending where Nathan finally told Duke about the jerky guy's "trouble."

And Audrey wants to save everybody. :(
 
Yes, the scene where Duke died and Nathan was trying to talk to him was very well done. There have been some nice moments in that developing friendship.
 
Episode 2:7 The Tides that Bind

I thought this was a very good episode. We're back on track with the main arc, and we did learn a little bit about the good Reverend.

The reveal about Evi at the end was a nice little twist. The water guy's warning to Duke was interesting too.

This episode had a better feel to it, more on target than they were with the Priestly episodes, I think.
 
I thought The Tides That Bind was pretty good as well. Some interesting imagery and good stuff with the Rev helped seal the deal.
 
Tonight was more Lovecraft than King-- apparently Haven has its own little Innsmouth. :D

Nice episode. I liked the backstory on the Rev. Apparently he started out as a decent guy and Haven sent him around the bend. He did the right thing in this story, so perhaps he can be redeemed in the end.

And he is Evie's secret conspirator?? :cardie:
 
Indeed. She seems so sincere when with Duke-- is she really playing him or is she being blackmailed or something?
 
Tonight it's episode 2:8, Friend or Faux.

This is a 13 episode season, is that right?

Does anyone know how the ratings are for this show?
 
That was pretty good.

So Duke's wife...I'm just not seeing her motivation. I think you were right, she's being blackmailed or something. It doesn't make any sense. She does not seem like the fundie type.

Now we've got the local politicians after Nathan. Where does that leave Audrey? Who was around when Nathan mentioned the editing of reports?
 
That was good. The hotel seemed to be an homage to the Overlook, but that seemed to be as far as the Stephen King connections went. This guy had a very interesting "trouble." The commercials said his name like I was supposed to know him, but I didn't; he was very good, though.

There was a scene at the beginning where Evie overheard Nathan talking about keeping two sets of records, and she tipped of the Rev, who tipped off the selectman, or whoever that was. That was the meaning of the text message that Duke found at the end-- and now he knows about Evie.

Might have had a couple too many drinks last night.

But...why? She seems like the type who would eat the Rev for breakfast.

Now, the whole thing about being "a copy"... Didn't Audrey once say "I think I'm Lucy"? She has never said that again. She says she's a copy of Audrey Parker ("I'm a copy of someone who went to Quantico! POW!"). They don't seem to be pursuing that very hard, or very clearly. Who the hell is she? I would think there would be some more intellectual curiosity about that. At least they explored the general state of being a copy in this one.
 
I suspect that now that she believes the other Audrey to be real that there is a reluctance to find out who she really is-- she likes being Audrey and is afraid that her real self will be a letdown, or worse. I think that she will somehow turn out to be both Audrey and Lucy.

And I think the reason for Evie's conspiring with the Rev will be somehow for Duke's own good, or at least she will believe so.

Hopefully, they will pull these things off in an interesting way.
 
Glad with the storyline re: Evi. Not happy with the storyline re: Duke and the Rev. (trying not to spoil)

What's so special about Duke?
 
I was sorry to see Evie go. This episode proved she was sincere, but now she'll never get to be fully redeemed. Also, she was pretty cute.

As for Duke, I think he's faking out the Rev. He's not that easy to play.
