SW blu-rays have changes to the films again

I've bought the Star Wars films so many times in so many formats that I'm going to pass on this one... unless/until it hits the secondhand market for a much lower price than its MSRP.

As for additional changes to the films for their Blu-ray release, I wouldn't be surprised if the Han/Greedo scene were changed so that Boba Fett shot first.

Is Lucas going and destroying everyone's pre-existing copies of the OT again? Man, I hate that guy.

Didn't know I owned a BD copy, or even a DVD copy, of the OT where the original source material has been transfered and cleaned up to fit the new medium.

If such a thing were available to me I likely wouldn't have a problem with what Lucas is doing here. But since I have no such thing then, yeah, I'm a little upset over it. But not greatly.

I've only even owned Star Wars twice:

- The VHS release in the late 90s (silver box, widescreen edition I think). Didn't watch it that often, sold them eventually.

- The DVD release in 2007 with the Special Editions and the original editions, which i still own.

I don't own a Blu-Ray player yet, so won't be buying this set. If I did I'd consider it.

I hope George makes the whole Cantina shoot first. Not only would it be absolutely hilarious, but I would love to read the so called 'fan' reactions.

Once he runs out of changes to make to the actual films, stuff like this could very well happen.;):p

Pretty soon, instead of their sword fight, Vader and Kenobi will dance the Cha-Cha together.

I would just like to see Obi Wan and Luke walk into the cantina with lasers blasts all missing them. Like a laser light show

It amuses me how angry people can get over a couple of movies.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate ...

Fear- Oh what's Lucas going to do with my precious trilogy

Anger- Argh! why?!

Hate- Screw you Lucas

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

Now are they incorperating these sceens back into the movie or are they going to be on a seperate section? I so can't wait till this and farscape come on blu ray.

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

Here are the ones I'd like to see:

Tosche station-Scene with Luke trying to get his friends to watch the battle overhead

That was mentioned on the old Making Magic CD (if I have that name correct) as part of the excellent Lucasarts collection boxes. I think I've seen it on Youtube, but there's nothing in it showing the ships over head, which admittedly are shown as more than two large stars in the sky.

He should turn the cantina into a gay bar. Luke should get into trouble for making eyes at walrus man's boyfriend and Ben should meet Chewie during a brief encounter in a dark room - why else would he speak Wookie?

When you think about the buisness mind of Lucas as opposed to the creative side, releasing the original trilogy as they originally appeared in the cinema in 1977-1983 would make sense; people would buy them.

Well, on the bright side, Lucas isn't immortal. He's going to eventually pass to the great canteen in the sky, and when he does whoever ends up with control of SW will probably have no emotional stake in seeing the originals released and thus will do so.

I don't think I'm the only one who has become extremely jaded after the special editions, the prequels, constant edits and "enhancements", and the constant fights and flame wars among the fanbase to the point where I honestly do not care for Star Wars one iota. Lucas could release the originals in super high-def 15532p resolution 3d where the characters literally pop out of the screen and slap the viewer around a bit, and I wouldn't buy it.

This more than Lucas has made me care less and less each year.
