This topic is kind of dispiriting compared to the Coming Soon topic in Gallifrey Base's Silence in the Library -- DW Books section. Might help if this topic included more than just the Pocket novels, but then there isn't much more than those nowadays. (Somehow I find myself unexcited about the Star Trek Book of Opposites.)

I do have to say that I think Book of Opposites seems rather ridiculous.

Any more ridiculous than "Trillions of Trilligs"?

It's a novelty book, which will be a quirky gift (from Quirk Books, no less) to buy for the Trek fan who has everything. I also know several Trek toddlers who will loooooooove it. (You can bet Botany Bay's two little kids will get this as a stocking filler.)

Or are you just envious because it's a board book that is highly unlikely to get the eBook treatment? Hehehehe. Amazon is currently offering a three-in-one pre-order price deal for the "Book of Opposites" when bought with Chronicle Books' "Obsessed with Star Trek" and Abrams Books' "Star Trek Vault: 40 Years From The Archives".

^ Yep.

But we do know that DRG3 has a duology next year, and David Mack has a trilogy. That's 5 out of the 7 remaining publishing slots for 2012, so we're definitely getting plenty. We just have to wait a few months.

(I'm not happy about it either.)

^Christopher apparently has another DTI book coming out in 2012 (an April 12th release date according to amazon). It's probably a safe bet that at least some of it will take place in the 24th century.

Edit: Or not...based upon this description from Christopher:

Forgotten History, dealing with the department's origins in the original-series era.

Though, I suppose it could still happen. It is time travel, after all.

Technically it isn't; one of the major points about the DTI is they don't time travel, and they're one of the only temporal agencies to not.

Also he said in another thread that it's turned out to be about half pre-TMP, half post-TMP in terms of era.

Well, it is called Forgotten History, after all. Which suggests that at least part of the tale is from the perspective of people for whom those events are historical. ;)

Pft, you think he should trust the author's word over a random internet guy? You're crazy! :p

What is coming out for November? I thought it was the next Vanguard, but it appears to be the October MMPB. Rise Like Lions looks to be the December book (coming out in late November).

The Romulan War: To Brave the Storm by Michael A. Martin.

Ah. That explains it. I thought it was still going to be a TPB.

Amazon says it'll be a MMPB.

It'll make the collection a little awkward since I have the first book in TPB. But I disliked it enough that I won't buy the MMPB reprint just for completionist sake. And I can be quite the completionist.

Star Trek: The Original Series
Received my notification last weekend and collected my copy from Galaxy on Thursday. I saw none on the shelves - and Galaxy normally gets in a lot of stock, so either it's sold really fast or they haven't gotten around to getting books out onto the general shelves yet.

I didn't recall seeing this cover online. This must be the first ST book in decades where the cover was a surprise to me on the day I bought the book!
