Having just read Bonanno's "Probed" article on her website, I am of course curious to know who "Rockstar" is. Is he David Stern?
I remember she once quoted a Dire Straits song when talking about this person and I thought that was a clue. (at the time)
Interesting article. Stern and Dillard don't exactly come off in a very flattering light (and sounds like deservedly so).
I especially love his comment about how they never showed any interest in music during the series, so why should they be interested in it now?
I'd like to hear Stern and JM Dillard's perspective on this. The narrative from Bonanno is (understandably) a little one-sided.
There are some who believe that "Vampire Lady" was Anne Rice. Yeah, I'm baffled by that, too. I can't see any reason in the world why Rice, circa 1991, would ghost/doctor a Star Trek novel. I'm with Steve. I think it was Dillard, largely because that's what the scuttlebutt at the time was.
FWIW Richard Arnold commented on it in an interview for a German non-fiction book and basically said it was rewritten because the character of Lord Rodney Harbinger was an obvious attack on Roddenberry and because Margaret used some "hidden codes" to insult him and Roddenberry and mentions one scene were Margaret allegedly wrote: "Korf, Drahcir, Dlonar - who cares?" as an example. Which if you read the words backwards reads "Fork Richard Arnold". But his "tone" during the whole interview really made me dislike the guy, so even if Margaret did that I'm kind of disappointed she didn't outright wrote "Fuck Richard Arnold".
