This could be ... interesting.
According to the Doctor Who News Page, BBC One has released its preliminary (underline that word) schedule for Aug. 27 to Sept. 2. And Doctor Who is NOT listed.
As the page points out, the BBC didn't confirm its airdate for Torchwood until closer to broadcast either. Though in that case Brits had to wait a week to see Miracle Day.

I can't honestly imagine the BBC not continuing with the same-day broadcasts. That would be insane... UNLESS:
They're going to wait till the following weekend with the assumption that BBC America will pre-empt Doctor Who on Sept. 3 due to the Labor Day weekend. Thereby allowing the UK and US broadcasts to synch up starting the 10th, so we don't get a rerun of what happened in the spring where the US and Canada fell behind a week.
It's also worth noting that Aug. 29 is a Bank Holiday in the UK too, so the BBC could be assuming the same rationale BBCA uses when it preempts on a holiday weekend.
That's the only rationale I can think of. Torchwood has taken a noticeable hit in the UK ratings due, most likely, to people downloading the US broadcasts a week earlier (doesn't help that the BBC is editing the show over there). I can only imagine the effect it'll have on Doctor Who. Fingers crossed this is just an omission - I can't find a link to an actual schedule grid, so there's nothing to indicate that anything has actually been scheduled in the 6-7 PM time slot. They just simply aren't including Doctor Who in the highlights of the week. For the first time?
