Well here comes part 2. That usually means a kick ass episode on other shows. Can Falling Skies deliver? I sure hope so, we could use some excitement after last week.

And another enemy? Do they mean the traitor general dude from last week? Or is it the puppet master of this invasion we've been waiting so patiently for? Guess we'll find out soon. Here's hoping for an exciting episode.

"Mike comes across a harrowing truth", to me, that suggests his son is still allied with the Skitters and his true colors show <Flag Planted, for better or worse>

Would be cool for the puppet master race (If there is one) to be revealed, but, I don't expect that to happen any earlier than the Season Finale, if in S1 at all.

Sindatur that makes a lot of sense. We know there is a skitter in the area, and that would provide an excellent chance for him to rejoin them.

I have to agree as well, I think that's the 'truth' that Mike is going to have to deal with. I mean let's face it, we all know that Ben isn't quite right after his time with the Skitter den-mother.

Whatever it is, I really hope that it ups the ante on the show's action.

Or, as the late WWE commentator Gorilla Monsoon might've said, "Business is about to pick up."

It is quite obvious that Rick isn't himself anymore, Ben seems to be normal. Maybe the Skitter that was held captive copied its mind to Mike before it died or maybe reattaching the harness changed Mike. Probably will find out next week.

Well that was actually pretty good. I'm so glad that Pope is back. Also the trailer for next week looks very intriguing.

I thought Mike was the father (the black guy) who got shot--hey, there's a spoiler warning in the thread title.

Ben seems okay, but the black kid doesn't seem to consider himself human. Add to this the "they look almost human" line in the trailer, and posters' prior guesses sound close.

I like the way the 2d Mass. Took care of, what were they, 3d Mass? The quislings/traitors.

I must've missed something, the bad guys had Pope, but how did he get away and find them with the kids? On that note, how did the bad guys find the kids, the music? That was my guess as soon as she started playing.

And I'm liking Pope realize that, while he considers himself all bad ass, he has more in common with the good guys than the bad guys. Made him see "human" despite color and that the white guys were acting less human than the black father--which is not the kind of thing he was saying before.

After Pope took the Motorcycle and escaped the 2nd Mass, he was captured by the bad guys. They forced Pope into telling them where the 2nd Mass and their kids were held up. And then came what we saw in these episodes while he was captured and escaped to help Hal and the kids.

Well, I guess my guess was wrong, Mike's discovery was merely the Collaborating, though Rick is definitely no longer "Human". It was good, and next week we seem like we're getting some concrete answers.

I'm glad Mike had a chance to redeem himself, I was half expecting him to make bad decisions when he discovered Eli's clothes as proof

Why is the brother always the first to go?

Not bad though sometimes this show's overdeveloped sense of decency is a bit eyerolling. OK so maybe not using the baddie's daughter or at least knocking her out is one thing but then to tell those guys to hit the road feels kind of phony.

Same as last week it's left me wishing the show had better directors. The action scenes come off so corny it's almost comical.

No grading thread? I'll give this one 2.5 Skitters.
It was better than last week, but still one of the weakest episodes so far. The preview for next week looks pretty good though; I'm still hoping for a big payoff sometime on this show and they're running out of time.

I just realized that this show has the most generic names for it's characters: Tom, Mike, Rick, Ben, John. I don't know the rest of the character's names, but if this show gets a second season they need to add some multi-syllable names.

OMG I just realized I forgot to put a poll on this week.
Soooo sorry. I had surgery on my foot and I took a second Vicoden last night and well......my thread suffered. But I felt great.

I thought it was OK. Not as exciting as I hoped but still not bad. Next week does look really good though.

Strangest thing, I kept waiting for someone in the show to comment about Pope's striped shirt at the end.

Rather nicely done. Using Eli's backpack to give them away was nicely economical and logical. Mike's soothing the children then checking himself was correct. Tom's nerve in playing the odds to save everyone without a firefight that would kill the innocents too was executed very smoothly. Killing Mike was unexpected.

Pope not getting shot was unbelievable but it was too much to hope that a comforting cliche like him wouldn't get special treatment by the script.

The reluctance of the characters to kill people is perfectly natural. They've seen most everyone they know killed. It takes a pretty defective human being to fail to see that every human life is precious and they can't afford to lose more.

Although they took their weapons at the end of the episode, and left them at that camp. If they stayed, then they'd most likely get slaughtered by the Skitters when they couldn't hand over any more kids. If they left the camp, then they'd be unarmed against whatever they ran into down the road, either Skitters or more bad humans.

Either way, they essentially doomed those people.

Hubby and I always comment on those competition shows (chopped, design star, project runway, etc) when the black guy is NOT the first one off. Not kidding. The brothers seem to go at the beginning a lot of the time.

Yeah, I was rather bummed by that myself. A good character, one I had come to like. All in all, I think this might've been the best ep so far; certainly an improvement over Part 1.

I was glad to see Pope back as well, and deciding to come to Mason's aid. Which made sense considering that Czerny's group kept him prisoner. It's a pity there's only two eps left now, consider that the show, IMO, seems to be finding its stride a bit. All we can do at this point is hope that the show gets picked up for a full season next year and opens up this story even more.
