Well the be honest, there's pretty much nothing there to be cut in the first place. It definitely wouldn't be cut if BBC 2 or 3 were airing it. See the bare arse of the bartender Jack's shagging and the woman in the other scene, some grunting and thrusting in bed and more arse. That's it really.
Also, I've noticed there's a later BBC Two repeat next week, I wonder if they've decided to air it uncut on BBC Two? Oh, there's BBC Two repeat every week. I wonder why they wouldn't repeat it uncut, they used to with Buffy and shows like that.

The thing is, it doesn't really matter either way.

Filming this scene didn't serve much of a purpose in the first place. But neither does cutting it from the episode again.

The former is a case of "this series is airing on a channel where we can get away with showing steamy gay sex, so let's show steamy gay sex". The latter is a case of "in the UK this series is airing on a channel where we can't show steamy gay sex, so let's cut it again".

In both cases they're merely doing what they can/can't do, without any further purpose behind it.

Just to throw my two cents in...

I found it educational. I hadn't given much thought to gay male sex ever, but always kind of assumed it was variations of doggy style. I had no idea missionary was an option for that sort of thing.
