UK Miracle Day thread?

Digital Spy have a response from the Beeb on the matter of cutting...

The BBC has now responded on its website to complaints it has received from viewers, claiming that the changes are edits rather than cuts.

"It is not unusual for co-productions to have slightly different versions of a show to reflect its different audiences," the corporation said. "For episode three of Torchwood, as part of the usual discussions between broadcasters and the production company, small potential edits in two intercutting scenes of gay and straight sex were discussed and made by production."

The statement continued: "This minimal edit makes little difference to the episode to be broadcast in the UK. Both scenes remain but run a few seconds shorter than the US version. In a later episode, a sequence of gay sex is important to the story and therefore both the US and UK will show the same version."

The BBC also rejected complaints which suggested that by making the edits it has interfered with the writers on the show.

"Torchwood continues to be a series that will ask important questions of how we all live in today's society and the drama reflects life as we recognise it," the broadcaster said. "The BBC and Starz have both been huge supporters of the writers' vision for the series."

Anywhooooooah

Next ep soon. I've been avoiding the offishul thread for obvious reasons but I did notice Guy saying Cap'n Jack looks old. While I can't go that far, I will admit he looks oldER. But then again, the bastard was looking far too young before so it's just his karma readjusting.

The divine John? If he hasn't had work done I would say don't because he looks amazing for his age and tampering with it will make him solely usable as comic strip modified, burnt out wrestler and a heavily made-up baddie.

Yeah, he says he hasn't had work done, but he would happily have work done. Some how I don't believe he hasn't had work done.

He's so had work done, but he looks good on it...

Re the kids watching thang, sorry but I still recall this being an issue even when series 1 aired because Jack was in it, in fact woman I work with had to specifically bar her daughter from watching it, despite the fact she really wanted to because Jack was in it!

Anyhoo, episode 2; very good, though I'm not sure about Danes' 'breakdown' I didn't think it was that affecting. Who is PR Gillie? Seems quite satanic to me, always popping up in the right place at the right time.

Stuff on the plane was good, Rex really is an idiot though! Not sure the Death Becomes Her twisted neck quite worked, but glad they're expaning on the nature of the imortality.

Quite good, didn't think the break down was acted well, unless he was acting faking it badly.

I enjoyed the horseplay involving handing out business cards and no-one wanting them.

Rex is a complete tool.

Didn't enjoy it as much as the first. It had the feel of a filler ep before the action starts.

The panic over massive drops in viewership due to the six day delay seems to have been groundless, since Episode 1 got 6.59m (not including iPlayer) as opposed to Ep 1 of COE which got 6.60m

I enjoyed episode two more than I did the first episode. I was shocked at how rough Capt J looked on the plane - I don't know why that was, but it was. The CIA agent bloke is still annoying the hell out of me, although possibly *this much* less than last week. It was nice to see Dichen Lachman again, who I always liked in Dollhouse. Gwen's right hook was a hoot! Go, girl. I'm finding all the CIA stuff back at the office relentlessly tedious and Bill Pullman is "blah" to me. Other than that, a great improvement!
