How did the Ancients make ZPMs?

They have established on the show already that ZPM's draw their power from an artificially created tiny bubble universe inside the ZPM...

I imagine how it works is that this microscopic bubble universe is actually a full sized universe that is only tiny relative to us (spatially transcendent) and this universe contains trillions and trillions of tiny (relative to us) hamsters all running around on trillions and trillions of tiny hamster wheels that are connected to generators that make electricity...

They state the ZPM's use a pocket of Subspace, not an entire pocket universe, more like pinching a bud of subspace up from the membrane and extremely accelerating its entropic decay in our universe to generate vacuum energy at an acceptable rate.

Yeah, but it's okay, because versions of those hamsters still exist in other parallel universes.
